I am so excited [livejournal.com profile] duikermeisie and [livejournal.com profile] used_songs and E (not on LJ) and I are going to have a biking and writing weekend in San Antonio the first weekend in February.  I LOVE having adventurous writerly friends!

Now to drag my bicycle, which is a very good one thank goodness, out of the garage, dust it off, make sure it is good to go.  I plan to take the Friday of the 5th off work so I can drive up early and find a lovely place to write the afternoon away until Helen arrives, then we'll bike adventure the next day, and then have writing time, then go home on Sunday.

This last week was well spent hammering out the last ten chapters (THE OUTLINE, NOT THE CHAPTERS) of my current novel.  I have to write them still, but this hammering-out the plot helps tremendously.   I have got to step up the production now and get this thing done!  Now that I have a map to guide me to the end, I am confident I can make it happen, stick with the Hodderscape synopsis (mostly--my character doesn't seem to want to be magical in any way, so I am letting her win on that), and it will be way too long in the end, but I'll address that problem later.  I estimate hitting 130 words, dammit. DAMMIT.  Way too long for YA, but perhaps because this is 'crossover' I can get by with 110,000.  I shall not worry about it!  Nay!

And now it is time to go to bed.  I'm doing 100 days of keto on reddit and can't wait to weigh in the morning.  Work tomorrow, but because of hte banks and court houses being closed, we should, SHOULD, have a relaxed day.  Better.

I had a good day, a good weekend, especially with my puppies.  I bought Shelby (the red) two new clouds. She loves them!  Maddox has no wish to lay on them.  He does, after all, have the couch.

EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION of what I hammered out. :)

Wow; that's a lot of chapters! You're amazing!

A bike/writing adventure sounds so fun! I've heard San Antonio is gorgeous; enjoy!

Clouds look comfy, but I agree with Maddox: couches are the best. ;)

Ha ha if only, I realize I meant hammering out the OUTLINE OF AWESOME for those twelve chapters. It will take another 6 weeks or more to write them!

Couches are best because I sit with him on said couch. :) Shelby gets up there occasionally but she is just not cuddly like he is - she is so big!

I bought them at Costco!! 23 bucks a piece! I have another one in my bedroom - both Shelby's. Maddox is a couch and crate dog (door open on the crate). I don't know why but he's never been into big pillows.

Some dogs are just more comfortable in a crate or cage. It helps them feel secure.

Your dogs are so very beautiful. We finally found the right dog for our family - a beautiful rescue German Shepherd who we have named Pixie. I can't imagine life without her now. Thanks for being part of what inspired me to become a dog person.

I'm doing OK. My parents aren't doing well/kids growing up. Getting older sucks.

Ha, I don't do animals well at all. I switched twitters to waltzingmice and my instagram is deadratsinmyfreezer (as well as Pinterest -- which I'm not sure what use Pin is). Mostly just drawings and pics of food. Of course a lot of tumblrs!

I'm not into many fandoms. I got into Torchwood decade behind everyone else. The ending sucked so bad I wonder if it was worth it! Nothing else has grabbed me a lot except for seeing Hamilton.

My kids are now 24 and 26 - all grown up! Tiff moved home for a bit but is now out and about on her own, and the son is home for a bit while he and his roommate find new jobs - that may be happening this very week. Then he will be out and I will be back on my own again, just me and the puppies. I don't have a problem with that - do they have lots of friends, or do they just have each other? I have my writing group friends, my long-time friend who I do stuff with, and when I am done with this book finally, plan on getting into some other troubles like kayaking. :)

Sweet.

How long did it take you to adjust?

I was part of some art groups that disbanded. So now I'm trying a online writing group too. I had a running group but had to retire from competitions because of my knee.

Oh no, knees are the worst! I gave up on being a runner but do okay with the fast walking/slow jogging. I decided not to worry about doing any races. What online writing group? Good for you! I have good local ones but not online ones.
