Scrapbook Screw-Up
So, I am very much not alone in my anger over the way LJ Scrapbook has scrapped all its usefulness. This really is the last straw, LJ. I'm a picture person, this is why I have almost a thousand pics in my lj, THIS one, no telling on my old twisting_path which is jammed full of pictures too.
Guess when I am bored or watching iplayer or hulu or something I can just start moving them off here.
I am sad. I feel really, really sad that the one way I enjoyed using LJ is now gone.
What is the point of LJ, anymore???

Back when I first got envious of everyone else embedding photos in LJ, I tried to figure out scrapbook, which was very new. I managed to upload a photo or two, but simply could not figure out how to embed them in an LJ post, so I whined about it until some kind LJ friend hooked me up with photobucket and talked me through uploading and copying the embed code.
I've been so happy with how that works that I never bothered to figure out LJ scrapbook - never hosted photos there, so it's no loss to me. Now, if photobucket started doing whatever LJ scrapbook has done to you, I'd be in the same boat - so you have my deepest sympathy.
I'm not sure what they're trying to get it to do - hopefully when they get the bugs worked out, it will regain some or all of the functionality that you need, even if it's a new format. *fingers crossed*

My main storage for photos is my computer, backed up to an external hard drive. Only the best make it to Flickr and I only use Scrapbook occasionally for photos I want to use to illustrate an LJ post but which are not good enough photos in themselves to be put on Flickr.
