Voting Day!

Today, I will be taking my beloved German with me to go vote. Though it won't be as exciting as going on the 4th will be, nonetheless I am going today as I am off work and Nick is with me, so he can check out the American voting system, such as it is. I wonder if anyone would frown if he went into the booth with me... :)

Then off to Barnes and Noble for a day of writing, then the dog park later. Should be a lovely day.

EDIT: VOTED!!!!!!! No line, all done, YAY!!!!!! Felt great to actually truly feel like I can make a difference--yes, I am in VERY red Texas, but am proud to be part of the growing population of those determined to change this state's color, if not this election, then the next.

It will happen.

From the even-redder state of South Carolina, where my vote on Tuesday won't mean a damn thing--good on you and congrats on voting. That's amazing that there was no line; I'm afraid to see what Mom and I will be facing when we vote (assuming we can find the polling place--it's way out in the country somewhere).

We went early, around 9:30...there was a line when I left though! Luck of the minute.

I get super infuriated with my co-workers who aren't bothering to vote because they do not believe their vote matters.

ARGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I heard the other day that Texas is actually in play? Oh well, I'm so inundated with election news that I'm probably mixing things up. :)

Did you get to take Nick into the booth with you?

I am VERY curious about Texas. Because...I know at least around here, things are changing dramatically. The numbers I saw last were old numbers...I will be eying the popular vote with great scrutiny, pretty much hoping that despite the electoral votes, that the popular vote will show things are indeed changing.

I am optimistic...but cautiously...because I know there are plenty of psycho fundy nuts out there who will not think twice about taking matters into their own hands. I know security for Obama is tight--I imagine it will be THE tightest in the history of politics. I just hope it is enough.

Oh and no, N did not get to be with me...hung out around the hallway.
