GET YOUR WORDS OUT-- FIRST WORD WARS! I am DONE!!!!

TWENTY THOUSAND
AND NINETY-TWO WORDS!

IN TWO FREAKING DAYS!!!!!!!!

To say I am happy is a slight understatement.  I can't believe I pulled out so many words in two days.  Given my monthly goal is a gasp-producing 25,479 words, and dawn of Saturday morning, I was about 10k behind, I am jumping up and down with glee. So to speak. Now, I am a whopping  4,736 words ahead of that.   Saturday, I wrote 13,216 words, today I wrote 6,876 words.

This has proven something to me.  That I *can* still enter The Zone, and still produce stuff that makes sense, and that, more importantly, by focusing so hard on the ONE story, and just pouring myself into the words and what is happening in the story, that magical things happen....connections are created that I couldn't see before, different avenues explode in my mind where I can take the story next, if I do this or this or that.  I had honestly believed I had lost this.  This is what it was like writing Red.  And I've said it often enough, writing Red was THE most fun I've ever had writing, of all I've written since I began writing at the ripe old age of 33.

So anyway, now I am curling up in bed to just relax, wait for the next word war, where I will just be a cheerleader. I simply can't do anymore now.  I've got dozens of pages over 33 single-spaced pages to go through.  In Times New Roman, lol.  The total word count is now 23,741 words.  The other words that make up the 30,215 I've written for the month were via several other fics, which comes to 6,474 words not of this fic.

Hopefully, we will get to do more of these.  I'd love to, without doubt.  No more than once a month though--it's gonna take me two weeks to clean up this before I can go on.  Grin.

Night, all!  I am curling up with my current watch, ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL, and going to simply relax the rest of the evening. AFTER, that is, I upload my story to my website, story now known fondly as OFN (One False Note).   YAY!

YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION. I mean, I'm impressed as hell with myself, but YOU. You did twice as much as me! I didn't think that was physically possible!

Oh you did fantastic, just fantastic. That was SO much fun, but maaan I was so weary that I just passed out after I signed off. I couldn't stay awake another second, and am pretty tired today! Grin.

have started going through the beast...so far, am pleased! I printed it out so I could be Fierce With Pen. In Red!

You are amazing. I'm so happy for you, and proud.

As you'll see in my post, I was unable to get a connection at the hotel until almost 9pm. I'm connected now, but so frustrated and aggravated that I don't want to even attempt to connect to the chat. I'm going to do my own little word war with myself, and then post my results on my LJ later on.

I did manage 1800 words tonight. Of course, I should have been asleep an hour ago.

I SAW! That is so awesome, go you!!!!! This was so much fun, wish you could've been there. There will be others though. Grin. NEXT time, I hope I won't have to be such a maniac. ;)

I'm having way too much fun writing a ballet dancer. LOL.

Yeah, the wordwars I did during NaNo were fun and productive.

I am so STUPIDLY PROUD OF YOU. *tackles* Also, I'm glad that I did get to do some wars today, because I'm almost 4k further along than I was this morning. I'm still like, 6k behind, heh, but that's way more than I thought I'd get in this weekend.

And now back to studying for the GRE. Heh.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
AHH TACKLED AHH!!!

I am just sorry we only met up a couple of times, but hey, 4k is awesome for a weekend, no matter what!

GRRRR to the GRE but GO YOU!!!!!!

Way to go!

I am so tired. LOL. Pretty sure I was possessed. Actually, almost positive.

It showed me some things too. A whole lot of things. Too much fun. Will carry this through (though not at this pace) until the first draft is done, then turn to the mystery, then back to this and send it in to editor. Then...back to the fantasy? I hope so. My writing goals for 2009 are pretty darn hefty. Grin.

GRIN!!!!!

This is the sequel for Loose-Id which PROBABLY (hopefully) means it is a shoe-in...I said I'd have it to them before end of the summer, so this is a good start.

You are amazing. *applauds* Congrats on getting out so much words. :-)

What you write about The Zone is so wonderful, and it kind of gives me hope. I'm not sure if I will be able to write that much, in or out of The Zone, but I know that I've been there, too, for example when I first sat down and wrote chapter 2 of the book last year.

I just have to get rid of me standing in my way, because I angst about jobs not being in sight. Silly me! No jobs mean more writing time.

And I might try out that word war thing the next time. This weekend, I was busy re-organising the office stuff with a friend, so there was no way I could have participated. And the word "war" kind of scared me. Stupid, eh?

I have so missed that zone. I can tell when you are in it--I remember that! Heck, writing that much in the Zone is INSANE. I just went with it, literally until I dropped. Fast and furious. Even with the stupid paper cut.

[identity profile] klgrem.livejournal.com 2009-01-26 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
Congratulations again! :)

I love these guys, and am really loving Gev, my new guy. Ballet dancer. Grin. Am having fun researching dancers...Baryshnikov (in the user pic) being definitely one of my all time favorites. Mmmm yeah. (Though he is quite straight, has four kids, 2nd marriage, a notorious relationship with Gelsey Kirkland...)

I followed all that because of my sister, who loved ballet. I never took lessons, ugh, but it is so easy to admire. Then Nick adn I went to the Dallas Ballet when he was here and it was so much fun, and lol I am so using what all we saw. Grin.

[identity profile] klgrem.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
Cool. I could never be coordinated enough to even attempt ballet. :)

[identity profile] orange-avocado.livejournal.com 2009-01-26 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
YAY! Congrats on the crazy awesome word count! Good luck with the editing process!

I've started it and so far I am pretty amazed and happy! but oh the typos, writing at that pace and just letting it all go. YIKES! Took me an hour just to do a standard spell check. Grin. Now I am getting through the nitty gritty of it, checking for content, etc. Pretty happy so far.
