Go Away! (sore throat!)

I am not amused.  My throat hurts and I am super tired.  I do not have time to get sick!  I must finish my [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest  fic by tomorrow night so I have time to go over it Sunday. And, maybe, at the very least let(!?) [livejournal.com profile] smirnoffmule  Brit-pick it for me.  Let! (more like me beg her to lol).  It is due by Midnight Monday!!!!   I don't intend to take advantage of the amnesty day, but if it isn't polished up to my satisfaction by then, so be it.  I can do it though, I imagine.  Unless I get sick.  I plan to sleep late--say, 7 a.m. even!--do the shower thing, grab my bag of frozen strawberries and computer and head for Barnes and Noble.  The puppies distract me too much here. Or rather Maddox does. Shelby is good company.  In any case, I am sure hoping I feel better in the morning.  I have been having a little trouble sleeping the last few nights again so will either hit the valerian or the Sleepytime tea. Chamomile sure is powerful!

Writing George has come pretty easily.  I am relaxed with him, none of the angsty eek that comes from writing something from a fandom I adore and that makes me nervous I'll mess up with, being my canon-wary self.  LOL.  Being Human canon is simple (watching the whole shebang oh 8 times probably helps) but I feel nicely in control. I am alot like George, I think!   I plan to do more with him (and Andy?), inbetween ballet boy story.  Maybe find a prompt table.  Any suggestions for finding good ones?  :)  Of course, my history with prompt tables is not so hot, but hey, you never know.

I am about 5008 words into my festfic as of last night.  (Not a short-fic writer by any stretch of the imagination).  Got my two guys together at last, but I'm having an unexpected problem.  With Andy.  He is not cooperating. Not writing in his POV (and I've only ever written him (in Seaside rpg on IJ) in his POV)  I am floundering!  He is unimaginative!  He is...boring.

Am going to reread what I wrote last night, try to glare at the Andy dialogue and Andy-fy it.  I'm going to watch Adrift, maybe that will jar me to my senses and I can write him more easily. I hope! :)

Watching Star Trek right now--Next Generation.  Getting in the mood for tomorrow night!  I cannot WAIT to see the new Star Trek movie.  I wish I could see it with my sister, sigh.  Would be so much fun!   The particular episode I am watching is the one in which Lt. Tasha Yar is killed by the black oil slick.  It absolutely TERRIFIED my daughter when she was little (six, seven or so)--she had nightmares for years after she first saw it (the one and only time).  I just told her what I was watching that episode and she screeched. I HATE THAT THING!!!! DON'T WATCH IT NOW I WILL HAVE NIGHTMARES!  LOL.

FIFTY-SIX DAYS UNTIL I SEE NICK AGAIN!!!!!!!

You know something, I really adore my flist. Y'all have made me feel warm and fuzzy alot lately, and I so appreciate that, very very much.  Thank you flist!

And now it is time for tea.

Annnddd .... about four months until you see me again!

Glad you're getting so much writing done, not glad you're getting sick. Go 'way, germs!

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Not 'so much' writing done, really. Some. Just some. :*(

FOUR MONTHS! I am not ready to think that far ahead, but come the end of July, I'll definitely enjoy doing so. LOL.

I manage to do one of two things: I either give people way too much advance notice, or not enough. It's just how I roll.

Good luck with the writing and your health.

*sends extra dose of vitamin C*

Uh...how long till you see Nick? :giggle:

I have no doubts you'll finish your stories in time, or that they will be good.

And speaking of stories. Guess what I found on a cd I burned before I changed computers. Does, "An Adventure For A King," ring any bells?

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Vaguely it does....it is tickling my brain. Do tell!!!

55 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I have come to understand something about a king's life, Aasdrin," Matti said softly to the dog at his feet. He dabbed his pen in the ink well for what felt the hundredth time that morning. The tarnished, tri-metal ring he wore on his right index finger caught his eye and he stared at it, accepted the fleeting pang of longing doing so caused. "It is one of tedious repetition. Droning conversation. Endless, boring tasks." He sighed. "They could have told me, you know. Warned me. But then again had they, I might not be sitting here now."

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
OHMYGOSH!!!!! Could you send that to me? I don't have it anymore!

Really, I so loved working on that fantasy world so freaking much. I would love it if you sent it to me. *cries*

Talk about smacking me with a sense of longing for those kids again. Seriously. I loved writing them so much.

Hmm. I find myself in an interesting situation. No autograph...file C wants...what ever shall I do?

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Not make me cry? Send me your address and I will do something about an autograph somehow? You know how BIG that book is printed out? It would be a monster!!! L OL.

[identity profile] fictional-one.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't ask for the WHOLE book, silly! Just an autographed cover. Geez. And women say we men don't pay attention.

The file should get to you any second, btw.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
You want a framed and signed picture of The Blue Man? LOL.
Edited 2009-05-09 18:49 (UTC)

[identity profile] fictional-one.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
No need for a frame, lord knows I have plenty of those. But, yes, basically. Not like the cover pic has to fill the whole page. Center it, sign it, send it. Pretty easy.

Hope you feel a bit better today.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I do, now, after a short nap, a cup of coffee, and buying tickets to see Star Trek tonight. And if my daughter would just leave...I'd settle in to work on my fest fic. I really don't want to have to beg to use the amnesty day! That would be such failure! LOL.

:)

(thanks!)

Hope Star Trek is good but I've been avoiding reviews till I can get to see it myself. Saw this spoof from Onion however which was v funny. Wil Wheaton had the link on his blog and I know he liked it. You might not want to look till after you see it. http://wilwheaton.typepad.com/wwdnbackup/2009/05/if-all-reboots-were-done-this-well-we-geeks-would-never-worry-about-reboots.html

Good Ol' Will...Glad he liked it! :) I'm just finishing up the first season, about to start watching the second (of STNG). I got into DS9 late, but enjoyed it and then wished I had seen it all in proper order. I'll get there though-- :)

[identity profile] klgrem.livejournal.com 2009-05-09 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
We saw the movie today and that's all I'm going to say. ;)
