Shelby and Maddox -- SNOW DOGS!

I couldn't resist uploading the video of Shelby and Maddox playing in their first real snow. No sound, wasn't turned on, but they were very quiet as they had their fun. It was so peaceful! I hope they get another chance to play in snow soon--I often feel so rotten for living where they hardly get to experience their natural state (so to speak).

Enjoy!

OMG LOL THE SHELBINATOR.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
SHE WHO RULES!!!

No wonder Nick likes her best huh.

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
OMG WHAT YOU WERE TELLING ME ABOUT FEMALE HUSKIES BEING BITCHES. THAT'S WHY SHE LIKES NICK, THE CATTY BASTARD.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
OMG you are right. That explains it!

I should send you all the pics I have of Nick and Shelby. Something tells me I should've been more suspicious....

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I bet they had like a stare off when you weren't there and Nick was all, "Bitch, please." and that was the end of it.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
LOL probably. He DOES take alot of credit for Shelby finally straightening out.

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Uh HUH. It probably had nothing to do with him, and he's all, "oh yeah, that was me."

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
I think what you're looking for is, ::eyeroll::

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Haahahaha he probably hates that we talk about him.

HEY CRUE! YOUR GF AND I ARE TALKING ABOUT YOU! LA LA LA CLEANING HABITS LA LA LA JOHN BARROWMAN'S COCK.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Actually he likes it. Every time I say, "Oh I chatted with amand_r last night" he says, "What did you talk about? WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT ME DID YOU TALK ABOUT ME????" And I say, "I don't know, we just talked about stuff. LOL.

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
HAAHAHAHAAH TRUE. WE DO TALK ABOUT OTHER THINGS, MAN. OUR CONVERSATIONS PASS THE BECHDEL TEST. JUST NOT THIS ONE.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well this one is in public so he can see for himself!

Of course I didn't tell him I sent That Picture of him to you...

now watch him demand explanation!

[identity profile] amand-r.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
omg we are seeding this thread with suspicious things.

i loffed the pic.

it made me "d'awwwww".

[identity profile] gypsylady.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Look! It's poop! Poop in the snow!!!!!!

Even if it isn't poop, most dogs hope it's poop. LOL! Your kids are adorable!

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
LOL there's poop out there--been too cold to go out and clean it up! BUT THE SNOW HIDES ALL THE ICKIES!!!

And the way they have torn at my once-beautiful cedar fence, damn them.

[identity profile] sartorias.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
I love seeing animal fun!

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
They are definitely fun! And what keeps me laughing. :)

[identity profile] duikermeisie.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't realize Shelby was cottoneyed.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
LOL I have not heard that term! Both are bi-eyed...just opposites, and Maddox is dark brown where she is copper-eyed.

All my huskies have to have bi-eyes FOREVER!!!!

[identity profile] duikermeisie.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Cotton eye = glass eyed = blue eyed.

You may have heard of a certain song in which the narrator asks "where did you come from, where did you go?"

And have you blocked me on google again?

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL I stay invisible most of the time because I just don't have time to talk. Especially during the day.

[identity profile] taffimai.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Very cute!

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
LOl thanks Taffi!!!

[identity profile] catsintheattic.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
Shelby's the boss! Lol. :-D

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL only when playing! And she outweighs him. He constantly reminds her he is boss dog, the brat, but when it comes to playing it is all 'body-slam me nao!'

[identity profile] misswinterhill.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
My two favourite moments in that are:

1. When the huskies realise it's PLAYTIME once exploring the snow

AND

2. Snow spaniel! Running over to you going OMG HUMAN THERE'S SNOW AND I WENT OUT IN IT AND DUDE THERE'S SNOW AND IMMA GOING BACK INSIDE NAO BUT THERE'S SNOW.

Thanks for sharing that! It's really warm here at the moment, so the snow is pretty exotic :D

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
They'd seen that dusting of snow at Christmas but nothing like this before! WHEE!!!!!

And lol Claire is silly and very ragmuffiny! She is not really that fat--it is all fur.

Awwww yeah you guys don't see snow really anywhere do you.

[identity profile] misswinterhill.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
We used to get a light dusting where I lived before -- and the reaction in the playground was pretty much what you have in that video there! But you're right, snow is very unusual in most of the country.

[identity profile] ms-meretricious.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, I love blue eyes on dogs :) You so rarely see that, at least in our neck of the woods. That's why I was smitten by our new puppy, he stands out in a crowd. Lovely dogs!

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww did you have pics of your puppy??? If not you must get one up!

[identity profile] ms-meretricious.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Only on Facebook so far. I'll post some :)

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Pup pup puppy! Please do!!!

[identity profile] green-knight.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
They're very much in their element ;-)

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my gosh what a face mask! And that casual arm propping him? up! Who is that? What a face!!!!!

[identity profile] green-knight.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid it was one of the images on icanhascheezburger.com - I don't have a dog, and I don't have a good picture of Ben (who belongs to the neighbours opposite and hangs out in the yard and is a Very Good Dog indeed.) - but I did need a doggie icon, and I just *loved* the image.

The cat is a random unknown temple cat, but at least it's one of my own pictures - so zen that not even a falling leaf could disturb it.

Your dogs are goooorgeous. :O It used to be the dream of my life to have a Husky when I was younger. I even had this giant plushy Husky xD I think I still do. I loved it. Now, after Wendy, I'm more in love with Cocker Spaniels xD But I still love the huskies <33333 Gorgeous. The brown one, with one bright blue eye and one dark brown - omg!

[identity profile] caninepawprints.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
They're so pretty! I love watching dogs play with each other, especially when they're huskies. I would love to get a second husky, but Todd won't let me. He thinks one is enough. :(

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I think two is easier, frankly. They entertain each other, there is a bondign that goes on between members of that breed that just doesn't happen with others. They adore each other, wear each other out--zoomies are so much fun with a buddy!! I would hesitate NOT to have two.

[identity profile] caninepawprints.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I think if we didn't have the two Chihuahuas and Alaskan Klee Kai, Todd would be more agreeable to a second husky. But since we already have four dogs, Todd is adamant that we have enough. While I would like another Husky, I do agree with him. If I were to get another one, I would probably have more dogs than I could adequately care for.

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
If your present husky doesn't eat the Chi's, I'd be happy. THe Klee Kai's are adorable! Do you get grrry if you see them called Miniature Siberian Huskies? Because they aren't from what I understand. I've had four, have three now, and yeah, four is alot re: vet bills and such!

[identity profile] caninepawprints.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't come across anyone call her a miniature Siberian Husky, but I have heard her called a mini husky. It doesn't bother me because it's essentially true. The main part of the breed is the Alaskan Husky, combined with American Eskimo and a couple of other spitz breeds to give the breed its size.

I haven't had too many vet bills with these guys. It's just with Kiba recently due to the hookworms and now the Lyme Disease. He should be alright, though. The last big vet bill should be his neutering next month, but you never know when an accident will happen.

[identity profile] tree00faery.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww! So cute!!!

[identity profile] fictional-one.livejournal.com 2010-02-17 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL.

Lucy doesn't get too excited about snow anymore. These days her reaction is more along the lines of, "Well, SHIT!"

[identity profile] tx-cronopio.livejournal.com 2010-03-14 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Your dogs are so gorgeous!

What part of FW are you in? I housesit fairly regularly for some friends in the museum district.

I'm in Arlington, btw. Yes, I know. Everyone hates Arlington. So do I. It's a long story :)

[identity profile] paragraphs.livejournal.com 2010-03-14 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
SW FW. I work over on the BNSF Rwy campus though so I run around all the time. Ugh!

I lived in Arlington for about six years! It was a long time ago. I don't like it here either, but until the kids are on their own (Tiff is almost 21, a junior at TCU, and the son is a senior in high school) I am staying.

I am in the odd position, too, of absolutely loving my job, just hating where I live.
