Well, I now have quite thoroughly put my college-bound daughter into debt. Spent about an hour at the bank today, getting her private school loan organized for the first year--3-4 days from now we'll get the approval and she'll be all set. I can't believe it, my kid is off to college.
*looks around the messy, girl-stuff-strewn house*
I am ready.

noclues aka Tammie and her family--Tammie's daughter Laura being buds with Tiff since they were little girls. Now they're both off to college... YES!!
And so, on to writing. I *am* working on something new, I am, I am. I really am. Not sure exactly what direction I'm going to take it, but I'm about to lay here in bed for a bit, and think. Think think think.
A week from today the son and I should be home with our new family addition. Have we done a thing to get ready? No, not yet, but I know we will during the week so that by Friday night, when we take off, the house will be ready. Hopefully the backyard too--I think we'll work on it tonight.
Things (life) are slowly falling into place. Looks like except for getting her there, Tiff is situated for college, and the son and I will have plenty to keep us entertained here at home, with a new puppy. If I can just get things under control at work, things will be much better. Since our company took on another Class I railroad, my workload has pretty much doubled, and while we're looking for a new person to work with me and take a bunch of the piddly stuff away (yay!) so I can be more research-focused, it is slow going finding anyone. This work is specialized so we know the new person has to be trained, but geesh there's GOT to be SOMEONE out there who would work out! I am dreading this, absolutely dreading it. I am fiercely controlling of my work, and it is going to be hard to get to the point where I trust someone else to take over doing part of it.
In other news, which there really isn't any, Nick and I are on pins and needles about his internship. He has a good possibility for one, and if it all works out, then next Spring Nick will come here for about a month to six weeks. I waaaaannnntttt him to come here! I'm trying to think super-positive about that. He's also looking for a new place to live and that has been frustrating.
I myself am doing well. Am losing weight really easily right now. Every time I catch a glimpse of myself I marvel at my growing beauty---LOL! Just kidding. Snort. But I do grin at myself, can't help it. Having been large, and now not (edging toward a 10 now) I am very very happy these days with how I'm doing.
Now it is naptime, I think. Nick is off at a Titanic exhibit with friends, and hopefully I have time to sneak in a few zzzzz's before he gets home.
