First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA!!!!! May all the fireworks boom in your honor!!! That would be
klgrem, who I totally blame for getting me on Livejournal years(!!) ago, and being a wonder-beta throughout my writing of Red. Thank you thank you Linda and have a wonderful day!!!!
In other news--IT IS SO GOOD TO BE OFF WORK TODAY!!! :) :) :)
After a few days of being horribly nervous and worried about my two Springers accepting Maddox I am so very happy to report that Claire and Maddox are playing at my feet. They are play biting and growling and the puppy is just in heaven. Claire's my Alpha girl, and her acceptance of Maddox has made me so happy! It freaked us out at first because we were seeing a side of her we'd never witnessed before. But after talking to the breeder, the folks on
huskylove, and the vet on Monday, we've relaxed considerably and are stepping back to let Claire take on the role she's assigned herself as Minder of the Pup.
Here's a couple pictures of them playing!

The vet also confirmed that as he grows, he will get rougher and Claire will get tougher and we MUST let her do what she wants. Right now, the way they are playing, I could cry with happiness. They are wrestling and tussling and having the best time. Oops he bounced right into the cabinet though--ouch!
The one I worry about now is Scotty, my old Springer. The pup is already pushing him down the line. He takes Scotty's tennis balls, and kinda scares Scotty. We'll be watching him. The vet knows my dogs very well, having cared for Scotty especially with all his teeth problems, and believes that in time, Scotty will indeed be third dog. He is such a sweet old guy but I know he can get jealous so boy am I lavishing attention on him.
Having three dogs--especially a new puppy--has been so much fun so far! I feel very good about bringing Maddox on board, now that Claire has adopted him. Yay!
My crazy Mother in Law is picking us up at 10:30 and taking me and Kelly to Petsmart to buy a dog bed for Maddox. LOL. She is dog crazy herself and no telling what we will come home with.
One great thing about this puppy is that the house is SO CLEAN! Have to do my room still but will do so today. He slept ALL night long in his crate without a single whimper, so I am hugely relieved.
Okay that is it for this post! Gotta go get in the shower and get this wonderful day off started.
