This past month or so has been insanely wonderful for me writerly-wise. I just added it up--wrote just over 26k in the last 5 weeks. I have to say I can't believe I did this. Seriously! Considering the six months previous I wrote nary a thing, this makes me very happy (and relieved). I suspect, somehow, I have found my writing mojo again. (It has been MIA for many years now, so this is really a wonderful thing).

I already posted about my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fic, and now will yack about my [livejournal.com profile] twsecretsanta fic. The link below takes you to my brand-spanking sparkly new lj for fiction, [livejournal.com profile] laridaes where the story is located (as is my Yuletide fic, as will be my Gulls story which is posted tomorrow). I was very happy (and relieved) to get [livejournal.com profile] invisible_lift as my recipient, especially as I absolutely loved his prompts. I wanted them! And so giggled madly when he became mine.

Now, I will have to admit here that when I found myself signing up to take part in this madness, I had to wonder what the hell I was getting myself into. I was already in a freak-out panic over [livejournal.com profile] reel_torchwood, and signing up for that (another moment of insanity), but THIS? This was TRULY nuts, as I had NEVER written a true canon-compliant Torchwood fic before. Or written for anyone else quite like this before. I tried, yeah, and failed miserably, because I was clueless about canon--and really had no interest in learning about it. Anyway--being included in a fest with such amazing writers rather gave me the shivers. Especially given lack of TW experience, my writing mojo was still flickering in-and-out, and I knew that work and the holidays would make it really tough to get done quickly. (I was almost the last one to post as a result).

So, it makes me very happy that Lifty liked my fic I wrote for him. I loved working on it, got more and more excited about what I was pulling together and more confident about writing that canon-thing (Gulls is somewhat au-ish). Had to push there in the end but I finally got it done and am pleased with it. Could always use another go-through...LOL!

Hope you guys will read it, and comment, if you haven't already. It would be awesome and mean so much to me, if you did *flutters eyelashes*. :)

And...I just found out who wrote mine! [livejournal.com profile] lefaym! LOL we were the last two to post, so hey, the best for last? :) It is a wonderful Tosh fic (which I was so happy to see) and can be found here: Stray Thoughts

Now I am pondering the question of...what next? I have joined in on [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout for 200k words and this year won't drop out--first project will be to finish my ms for Loose-Id. Time to get this done and turned in and have the fun of selling and such again. Goal is to write and get out two manuscripts this year.

But I'd also like to write more Torchwood fics, I think. I rather liked doing a fest (oi, deadline mania) so if anyone has some good ones, suggest away! Am iffy about Big Bang, only because what I'd want to write would be Andy-centric and no one would read it. Bah.

One last thing I want to say. I think there is something special that has helped me get back on my feet writing again, finding pleasure in it again, losing the fear of sharing my work again--and that is all of you guys. Your friendships, the way you all reached out to me through Nick, became my friends too, some of you very special ones indeed.

I really am in awe at how wonderful, caring, supportive, fun, and awesome you all are, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me be a part of it all. My life is so much the richer for having you all in it, it really really is. I love you guys!
