I'm supposed to be plotting out a sequel to Red, right? But instead...I was just sitting here, all innocent, when I remembered that I wanted to look further into something that [livejournal.com profile] invisible_lift  shared today. What was that, you ask?

A vampire slayer kit, circa about 1800, just sold at auction

Whoa.

This is another one I found...19th Century vampire slaying kit, closer to 1850.  Not quite as fascinating as the above one, but lovely.

There are more!  Apparently, these kits were quite the thing to have handy around the house.  Seeing this site REALLY made me shiver.

I do not like vampire novels. I was never a Buffy fan, Twilight makes me roll my eyes, Angel--was he a vampire? I dunno.  I walk down the YA aisle and screech at all the vampire novels....  Then this smacks me in the face, and an idea comes so hard and fast and pushes Lee's story aside...unless of course I could make the ballet dancer a vampire...  Bet that's been done.  LOL.

Or has it?

C, seized by odd things in the night

Dude. That's AWESOME. But then again, I love both vampires and weird artifacts.

I think it has, yeah. I mostly don't even bother looking at vampire anything anymore, it's been so overdone. Two exceptions are True Blood and a strange YA series that's best described as Gossip Girl with vampires. Not especially good, just interesting.

I wonder if the Sookie Stackhouse novels are any good.

P.S. Yes, Angel was a vampire. :)

I would not be surprised if some people thought that "A Red Tainted Silence" actually was a vampire novel. It's got the perfect title.

I love vampires so stupidly much. Huge Buffy and Angel fan, love Lost Boys, and really I totally flail over anything that looks like maybe it's a vampire.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE!

I totally want my own vampire hunting kit. And thanks to The Vampire Survival Guide, I totally know how to make a modern day one! ;)

Wow, that first kit is so cool.

I love vampires. Angel is my favorite vampire of all time.

Sookie is unusual and fun-- I once knew the author (back when I was in mystery) and she is a hoot--am very glad she is doing so well. I have the pilot downloaded but only read the first three books--maybe since she isn't a vampire herself it is more fun. Fast books--first one was sold as mystery but the rest as fantasy.

I agree, totally overdone...that's why I'm mad. LOL.

Oh you are not kidding! Darn it! I can't use it again, can I? :)

Amber's been forcing me to brainstorm ideas. ALl pretty whacked at the moment, but I am afraid something may actually emerge. Yikes!

LOST BOYS--I loved that! If you make it, you have to post all about it.

I never watched Buffy or Angel because back then, I had no control over the remote (i.e., my life). But I do now...I should indulge, huh. I just might have to. Which to start with though?

The plot idea is eating me alive. I may succumb. I should watch Angel, huh? Grin. (But I just got Supernatural restarted...). LOL.

Aren't they just so cool? I can't believe I never heard of them, but not surprised either as I am not a vampire girl. (Yet).

Well Buffy was before Angel -- Angel was a spin-off. Buffy is definitely worth a watch. It might not make you squee with joy at first, but after a few episodes (or seasons even) you might find yourself totally hooked. I did :) The characters in Buffy were awesome and so was the dialogue!
