I really do dread the next two days. On the road to Amarillo, my MIL blabbing away incessantly next to me, the kids half-asleep in the back (neither being at ALL thrilled by this adventure), my mind a million miles away with the one I'd rather be with, our contact necessarily limited the next two days...
(And I have to put the pupsters into boarding for two nights--wail!!!)
This is the only time, and the last time, we will ever do this for my MIL...I know it is a good thing to do, it is making her happy, she won't be with us for long. Yeah yeah, right, okay.
Tiff is bringing AUDACITY TO HOPE by Pres-Elect B. Obama. Since we're heading into Republican territory, I have to grin widely at that. Love that kid.
So until Friday, or late Thursday (I do so hope to be home by 9), I bid you all adieu, happy holiday if it applies, and if not, just have a nice day Thursday, okay? Great!

Date: 2008-11-26 03:29 am (UTC)There are other reasons it will be difficult, as I'll have to don my other skin for a couple of days. The 'this is my son's widowed wife' skin. I can handle it in small doses, but this one won't be small.
I do care very much for MIL, without doubt--otherwise I would never have said yes to her request that we go with her for Thanksgiving--but it is back to being the me that I no longer am. THAT is what is hard.
But the me that I am now, I would never share with that side of the family. No way. *hugs self*
The food should be awesome though. LOL. Mmmmm....all i really want is vegetables, and pumpkin pie!
Have a good Thanksgiving too!
