I remain completely flummoxed how people like my MIL's friends (she does dislike Bush, she gets a few points for that, but wouldn't vote for Obama because of that skin color thing) continue to believe in the man's administration. I just got an email this past week from that group, talking about having Texas secede, and naming Bush as President, and everyone better hurry and move to Texas now!

That made me so sick. I was so angry, so disgusted. (Being forced to have people like this come into my mailbox--I do use a filter--is fascinating in a way as it shows just how poorly-read these people are, and worse, oh worse, how unbelievably vicious--the emails I've seen!!! I love my State, I love my City, and believe me, not everyone here is like that. And our numbers are growing. But that kind of attitude... Whoa.)

Everywhere we turn now, something else flies in our faces (beyond the obvious) that the Bush Administration overlooked, actively ignored. Global warming, "a liberal cause." Oh my. More extreme selfishness...just how did the Bush Administration expect to escape what the scientific community has been saying for years? We're in deep shit.

Obama's choice to choose scientists for these posts is not brilliant. It is COMMON SENSE... Bush apparently lacked that, as did his administration.

One point--some might say "that article is biased" but facts are facts. I do try to dig down to the facts regarding things like this...time and again, after digging through the muck, the cold hard truth is just as frightening as anything made up. The more I learn the sicker I get, the more hope I have that Obama truly is going to change every little thing that he can.

Thank the moon and stars we have an intelligent president-elect. Hopefully, the opposing party members who continue in their roles will recognize, or already have, that they were part of something bad, very bad, but now have the power to make the future bright by working with the new president.

I am so sick of embarrassment. I am so sick of feeling ill, I am so tired of being ashamed and having people judge me because of the 'leader' of this country.

January can't get here soon enough.

I know. I know.

Just to be sure I wasn't talking out of the side of my mouth, lol, I did a little googling and got confirmation that Bush indeed continues, in his last days, to make such horrible choices:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/21/AR2008112103359.html

I hate that man. He will be living one hour from here. I did not vote for him, have felt sick for years about him in this sea of red in which I live, to have confirmation all the time now that I was right to feel like this is not exactly comforting. I'd rather have been wrong. Unfortunately, wasn't.

January, please, please please hurry...

(I have some friends who get to go to the inauguration--I am so happy for them, but insanely jealous!)

How much you wanna bet that people will complain that stuff like global warming wasn't as bad during the Bush Administration...because Bush repressed the fricking scientific reports!!!

It's like he's trying to go out with a bang, and since he can't go out with a good bang, he'll settle for going down as the president who made the most worst decisions in the world. I can not stand him.

it frightens me, even now that he's on his way out, how clueless he is. I mean--how can he NOT SEE?

I hope next time I go to Germany (this summer) I won't be scared (yes, scared) to admit I am an American. I guess I am stuck with the Texan apologies...which slays me...

"I'm a Texan, yes, but I did NOT vote for Shrub!!!!!!!"

In my corner of the world we have some brilliant minds as well :/ I checked who directed our local government's agriculture area, and it's a philologist. Great!

My dad considers himself Texan since he was born there and then lived there again out in San Antonio for 8 years, but I don't despite being born there because of attitudes like that. I've been here in FL since I was 4 and this is what I consider myself, not Texan, or not that kind of Texan if I was ever willing to consider myself Texan.

Did you hear the Democratic and Republican parties are being sued for slander?

Seems a whole bunch of pigs are upset about being compared with Sara Palin.

Made that joke up all by myself. And I'm home BTW.

Got in about 11:30 last night. Gotta tell ya, nothing beats a hot bath, cold eggnog, and a warm, comfy bed. Well, there is, but we won't be discussing that. *G*
