The little Yorkie's owners have been found! A very tearful and excited woman called me just a bit ago, and described the pup's collar perfectly. Her name is Chloe. The pup's, that is, not the woman's. Her name is Norma.

The family had just come home from a holiday-weekend (which is why Chloe smelled so good--they'd given her a bath just before going). The granddaughter had Chloe and was supposed to bring her inside while everyone else unpacked the car.

An hour or so later, grandmother asked her grandaughter, "Honey, where is Chloe?"

"She was heavy, I put her down."

Oops. Given the dog weighs 4 lbs. tops, the granddaughter must be pretty small herself.

Two days now they've been going nuts--they put up flyers but not, apparently, where we did. Whoops! She hadn't travelled far, but Tiff thought she was trotting down McCart...she was, but apparently had come to some point and turned back.

I'll call the family when I get home, and they can come and get their pupster. And yes, I told her, "My daughter took her to the vet's to look for a microchip but there wasn't one. Or tags." (Said pointedly, but kindly).

Maybe they will at least get her tags. Poor pup! Poor granddaughter who has been crying and beside herself for two days.

A happy ending to this tail tale for all.

(And my daughter is enormously relieved the little yapper will be gone when she gets home. LOL.)

Very good they are back together. Hopefully they will get some tags and/or microchip her.

So how did you end up finding the family? Was it through the groomer's?

Yippee! (And weirdness, my grandma's name is Norma, too.) Yay for the happy ending! I'm sure the reunion will be wicked sweet.

When she asked how much she owed me (for the food I bought) I did say Nothing, just get a tag! She promised she would!

No, Tiff posted FOUND! signs all over. I need to go take them down now. Don't need jerks calling the numbers. LOL.

They'd put up signs too--we just put signs up in different places!

edited for saying sounds instead of signs. Dork me.

Oh it was so cute!! They zoomed up in their SUV, the little girl in a big carseat in the back, screeching happily--Chloe saw Norma and started wiggling like crazy, I handed her over and Norma put Chloe in the car and she started to zoom around and then jumped in back and it was a licky squealy laughy adorable reunion. So cute! I am so glad! I would HATE for that cute little girl to lose her beloved baby. They had a long two days.

Yeah, I read that but it doesn't answer the question. You're saying that you both put signs up in different places, implying that it was a futile attempt on both ends. Are you saying that one of the family went to where you put signs up and saw it?

Oh oh oh! Tiff put hers up after they did, and that was last night, and they were driving down McCart and saw the FOUND in bright red so pulled over and sure enough, that was their puppy! So yes, in different places, but happily they drove by one of ours and saw it. Phew!

Gawd I keep trying to get back to your lj and contemplate your writing more...makes me THINK! Hopefully today.

But yes! Tail wags for all--and WOW did that doggie EXPLODE with energy when he saw his little girl! She was so happy too! Made me cry to know she'd been crying for her dog the last two days. Having escape artists myself (14 times for Maddox, NINETEEN for Shelby) I know how it feels to have your dog go missing.

Interestingly, we figured out that the pupster seems to have taken her walking route. Up the street, down McCart, and may have been heading back around again which was why Tiff thought she was coming from a different direction. Now, cracks me up to walk a four pounder that much, but Norma, the grandmother, says they walk all the time in the evenings. We generally walk later (because of the heat) so have never seen them.

I am just happy, very happy. Need to call vet and tell them. Just did! And the girl Abby is sad but really happy too. LOL.

Oh yes. Grin. My daughter did a good thing. She was ready for it to go though. She's not REALLY a dog person, much.

I do love a happy ending! :)

Over here, dogs have to wear a tag by law. Not that that stops stray dogs turning up without them.

Definitely. I hate seeing lost puppies!!!

Nick and I saw a really big Akita once, running along the street, leash behind him. Now...I know Akitas, and they can be aggressive--we did try to find him but he disappeared.

My two run up to people tails wagging and that is often how they are caught. My fence is finally reinforced well--the last escapes by Shelby were through the front door! KIDS! ARGH! Once a kid chases my dogs, they are super-careful with the door. :)

(I keep this kitty icon just for you)

Lost puppies are sad, but found and brought back puppies are love!

I love that kitty icon. *beams* I don't have a doggy-icon (I'm sorry!!!), but I have a Draco-icon to inspire you for your darkfest story. *hugs*

Here too! That's the amazing thing! She said it was a new collar, and she'd never tried to escape--and this time she hadn't either. Just put down by a four year old. Nevertheless, tags AND microchip are in order for all dogs, IMO.

A tag with a cell phone number would've prevented 2 days of not knowing if their babygirl was alive or not.

Lots of yay's and no more YAPS in the house. It was driving my dogs nuts! They thought the yapping came from outside (instead of overhead) and Maddox was all ready to hunt that noisy squirrel down! LOL.

Yay, I'm glad the owners were found, that granddaughter will be keeping Cloe close to her for quite a while, possibly! Hopefully they get tags atleast.
