I love this picture of Gwen and Rhys.

Am at home, having decided to stay home today. Mountain Cedar is running rampant in Texas right now ('tis the season). I have been feeling like crap since Sunday and getting worse--today? TOTAL BLAH. The unexpected warm weather is nice, but it encourages the explosion of this evil tree.

Evil, huh. Just looking at that picture made me sneeze.

I was very happy that my Doggie Biscuits for Haiti brought in $30.00! I've heard from the winner, and will be cooking madly this weekend. Saturday it is me and the kitchen and my pups will be waiting to perform their test-tasting duties. :)

I keep debating whether or not to toss my first chapter of my ms out for viewing by anyone who wants to take a stab at telling me whether or not it works. I am sick of rewriting and just want to get this rewriting part done so I can get back to the fun stuff.

If anything, this ms has taught me one important thing--I *HATE* writing huge portions in fast-draft style, then going back over in a rewrite. I much, much, MUCH prefer tweaking as I go. *flail* It is a big pain and I don't like it.

Have managed to knock off 5.2 lbs. since New Year's. Whee! I miss jalapeno poppers though, grrr.

Am watching American Idol. Is very interesting without Paula. I miss her, but I am liking the guest judges they've had so far, especially Shania Twain. She gives thoughtful comments that actually make me nod. LOL.

I am putting all my fics into my new fic lj, [livejournal.com profile] laridaes. I have some old fics in memories in another lj, my very first one on here. I want to move everything to the new place but damn, there's alot of entries, about 112 altogether.

Does anyone know a fast way to do this?

I don't like the silence of my house today. Being home on a weekday feels all weird and wrong. I rarely do this for a reason. Both kids are at school, the dogs are inside but lazing about, and I need to get back to work on this fic but I don't like the silence today. It is fine on weekends, but not today. Weird. Maybe it is the meds I am on?

I find it helps to blame most anything on meds, then you can just get on with life. "It's my meds!" *tra la la*

BTW

You have trees that 'splode? DUUUDE. Ours just sorta shed leaves once a year, and the occasional branch regardless of season. Only in Texas would they have exploding trees. Do they go "YEEEHAW!" when they blow up? Or is it a secret, redneck conspiracy, and it's actually real explosives? I'll check with Mom's side of the fam. I'm part briar. Maybe I can get the inside scoop!

LOL they are out in the hill country--we used their bark to start fires back in Girl Sprout days. They go up QUICK. Useless evil trees. Just useless.

I actually figured out what was bothering me. The house is way quiet because I fill up the aquarium! For over a week its sounded a waterfall! Now it is all quiet! The fish are happy but I miss the sound.

Seriously, it's why my folks and brother and I can't ever go out to Texas around Christmas any more despite the family inviting and pleading. Every time we have, we've all got miserably sick from stupid mountain cedar. I didn't even realize they went *BOOM* quite like that! It all makes sense, part of the evil...

the only easy import thingy i've ever seen/used was importing my lj to my dreamwidth, but you can't do that with communities and you can't import dreamwidth to lj :(

Hey I was just thinking about you because of this as I think you had mentioned it. Yes yes yes it apparently is associated with starting on Christmas!

Good memory! :) Yep, one of my complaints about ye olde birth state. Someone needs to tell mountain cedar that it's NOT festive! Leave the exploding to the fireworks!
