This has been an amazingly strange but good week. First, my friend [livejournal.com profile] talekyn aka Anthony (and about twenty other nicknames) was in town. Got to see him Saturday night, and last night before he continued his never-ending tour of the country teaching classes on hazmat and such. It is always so fantastic to see Anthony! He rocks, and really made my week.

Then, I got my new cell phone! No, not an iPhone, can't afford it, but I got a really cool Nokia semi-smart phone that is a touch phone and really snazzy. Best of all is the really, really nice camera it comes with. The pictures it takes are better than my last phone, and as I love to take pictures on a whim, this makes me happy.

I got my bento box! I have not started bento'ing yet though. Next week. This week's been too crazy.

Then, I got a new computer at work! Windows 7! It took two days to tame it and make it behave with all the programs I use, but I have it rocking along nicely now. We also got a new phone system at work that is incredibly cool. Best of all? The server that hummed ferociously at me all day has now been moved so everything is much more peaceful in my area.

I didn't think this week could get any better, but I was wrong... I hadn't counted on [livejournal.com profile] amand_r, [livejournal.com profile] neifile7 or [livejournal.com profile] valancy_joy (and, soon enough, [livejournal.com profile] dremiel who is sending me Israeli couscous!) to make me feel so damn warm and fuzzy and loved by my lj friends. Really, I am just amazed at all of you guys.

This morning I checked the mail from yesterday and found this stuffed into my mailbox. A present from [livejournal.com profile] amand_r!! She'd been to Dragon*Con and had promised some cool stuff so I was all excited to open it.

Inside were wonderful things:

With the earrings, which are GORGEOUS, was a note that they were from both Mander and from Anya [livejournal.com profile] neifile7. Thank you, both of you, for thinking of me at Dragon*con! Silver dangly bits, I love them! You guys made me wish I had been there. Maybe someday I'll brave it again. Maybe.

The bumper sticker makes me laugh as yeah, I'm a muggle through and through. And the box of smoothie recipes is absolutely PERFECT, as I love love LOVE smoothies, and Smoothie King is killing me. There is one just across the field from work and I am addicted. The $$'s add up, so I bought the Gladiator (lol) base and will be making my own. Now I have no end to ideas of how to make them, either! Whee!

If that wasn't enough, today I got home from work and was going about my business, feeding the dogs and freaking out over the kitchen (Kelly cleaned upstairs, argh, I am glad he is neat, but I am NOT glad he accumulates so many dishes in just a few days), when I realized there was a package on the hearth. I hadn't been expecting anything, but when I saw where it was from (PA) and from someplace having to do with blue castles, I knew it was from [livejournal.com profile] valancy_joy.

Look what was inside!!! A beautiful hand-made card with even more beautiful words inside:

And then this. This! I LOVE THIS MINI-SERIES OMG!!!! BALLET SHOES THE ORIGINAL ZOMG!! From when I was a teenager a century ago! We had talked about this movie, the book series, ages ago, and I have the Emma Thompson version, but whee! The original! I screeched when I saw it! Valancy, thank you so much! LOL! I cannot WAIT until Saturday morning, when I will watch it while I am working on my rewrite. I probably will be horribly distracted and just give up and watch.

Today was just an amazing day, and I feel outrageously special that you guys all thought of me, just because. I am truly lucky, really am. :)

Tee hee, yes I have!!! I plan to be super-bento-y all next week. [livejournal.com profile] dremiel prepares a bento box for her son, a vegetarian, every day and taunts me with photos daily. I finally broke down and got my own box, but sadly, she is not around to make my lunches for me too. Darn it. LOL!

There are at least two filmed versions, probably more. And the recent Emma Watson Hermione-as-Pauline was pretty good :)

You are loved!

And you made my week, too, dear heart. Not just for indulging my insane book-buying habits and urge to try chain restaurants I've never heard of, but for the boundless conversation and forcing me to let myself have some fun!

I wish I could get here more often, or that you could get to KC next week! haha

N'awwwwww. I'm happy you're happy. The DVD was supposed to go out as your birthday prezzie but life got in the way. But it seems like it was a good day to have it arrive.

I am a Streatfield nut and have a lot if her books and have read most of them. I am happy to geek out over them any time :) and don't worry about getting too distracted. It's pretty short! Lotsa love! Xoxo
