I am the slowest reader ever these days. Between work, commuting, the house, following several television shows, writing, playing with the dogs, doing things with the daughter (when she has time lol, conversing with the son, etc. it takes me a long time to read a book. I listen to books alot at work and those go quickly but of course they are expensive, and many of the books I want to read are not available anyway. But despite my slow reading, I keep buying books! I have put a moratorium on that now--no more book buying, no matter how much I am tempted, until I read five of the following books. But I need help deciding what to read next. Help?

UPDATE! Oh wow Dexter won by a landslide, so he is first! Then Boneshaker then The Dark Half. I can't believe I've never read that one... Then onward after that. Now to see if I can actually read a book in less than three weeks... :) Thanks guys. THat was fun to see answers. LOL. Now I am off to bed with Dexter!

I put dexter b/c I think it'll be a lighter read than others on your list and may not distract you too much from your other projects. :)

I have not read a single one of those, C! Hmmm, good books I've read lately would include "A Long Way Down" by Nick Hornby and I love Kate Atkinson's books -- good mysteries set in England & Scotland.

I haven't heard of any of the books on your list, so I can't really vote for one. I'd do the last one on the list, but it seems like you don't really want that option. :P

I haven't read Boneshaker yet BECAUSE EM STILL HAS MY COPY *glares*, but I'm totally voting for that. BUT since Dexter is winning I'll tell you that Boy is reading those right now and really enjoying them.

I haven't read any of these, so I can't really help. But I can sympathize! I have an entire bookshelf, plus a stack of books next to my bed, all of which I haven't had time to read.

A poll is a good idea, though...perhaps I shall make one!

I've not read most of those books so I voted for the two I have read, but The Dark Half is one of Stephen King's most compelling books, for my money, and one of the few that doesn't utterly fail to have a decent climax.

It's very, very gory, mind you, but to this day if I could only pick one King book to survive history, it would be The Dark Half.

I voted too late to actually be counted, but wanted my voice heard even post-decision. *grin*
