Of all days for Kel's side of the family to be falling apart in anger, fury, and just plain meanness to each other, deserved or not, regarding my BIL's return to service.

I have told both sides that I love them, but stop dragging me into their personal bitter war. I've had it, and I am not interested in being the person in the middle who both sides complain to. I do not enjoy it, it serves no purpose, nothing I can say will change things, so leave me the hell out of it. Got that? I am tired of it all.

Just. Leave. Me. Out. Of. It. Dammit!

I just want them ALL to go away, right now. I have enough to worry about in life than to put up with that, so, I refuse to.

It just makes me sick.

It just gets OLD.... And yes, that is exactly how I feel. His reasons for going are understood and appreciated by his wife, and that is truly all that matters. My MIL has other ideas, but I've been around this family long enough to remember him when he was 16. And, out of the house and living with friends because his mother wouldn't stay put. She has resented him ever since. He and his friend Trey (with whom he lived in high school) started and ran a lawn business that put Jim through college. He then enlisted in the Army, went through OCS, and retired a Major...missed it, went to Air Force Reserves, and as he puts it 'is finally utilizing all that he has learned the last 16 months.' He is 41 years old, his wife supports this, he is financially stable. No kids, by choice...though perhaps they still might. I say he's done damn well.

And, though he does not have his mother's support, he sure has ours.
