Sitting here on my bed watching a BBC show in which, in this episode, a Thames ferryman travels to Bangladesh and learns how to run a ferry boat (sampan) across the Ganges river. Terrible, terrible river, very different world. Inspiration for my current project.... Not a good place. The man who is hosting our Brit on his adventure would give anything to live back home in his village, but he can't. All he needs is two cows, to work the land, but he can't afford them. A very desperate world, and I am using it for something as frivolous as fiction. Crazy huh.

It reminds me just how rich I truly am. Truly.

Anyway. Writing - had to do a quick turnaround of IMBM because my ms was riddled with funky hidden things. WTH. I use five different computers, LOL, so... maybe somewhere in there? Anycakes, got it done and turned back in.

Off work today so what did I do? Made a fabulous pot of soup! Yes, even though we're in the 100's again, I freeze at work, so I made soup. I have discovered the glories of Pinterest. This is a recipe from there, but, me being me, I can't stand tweaking the hell out of things, so I did, adding Things I Like. Though I eat about 90% vegetarian but w/very little dairy (just sour cream, yo, really - mostly no cheeses, which is sad as I do like cheese but it just doesn't care for me much...dammit...) this soup has free range chicken, baked in my clay cooker and then shredded.

And... I tried to upload a picture but LJ's new picture thing and does not work. It just mocks me. Sorry about that. OMG I cannot get it to work! WTH! I AM PISSED! I AM NOT AMUSED! THIS IS MAKING ME FRUSTRATED!!!!!!

I got mad and made a user pic of it. GROWL.

Pout. I am done with you, Post! And very irritated with LJ.

That looks like Amazingly Good Soup. :-)

Yeah, I'm studying development in Central Asia and... yeah. Pretty much ALL Americans are in the 1% worldwide. Perspective, right?

Yes, I've had the LJ non-photo upload escapade. It is VERY frustrating.
Being a frozen girl to begin with, I need air conditioning when I go anywhere over 85, but I have family members who live where it is hotter than that and freeze with ac. So I can understand you making soup when it's 100 out.

Good!!!! I have my own thermostat in my office, but it is a beast, and they won't let us have heaters :(. So I have a heating pad in my chair. LOL!! It is on right now, so toasty...sometimes I stick my hand behind my back to warm up. The soup helps :)
