well, sometimes it is truly helpful to dump on the friends. Or maybe just writing everything out, and having someone else organize the list (thank you, sweetheart) helps.
Or maybe, just having so many great people respond with thoughts and advice made me feel less overwhelmed.
In any case, this weekend I accomplished the following:
1. Bank stuff. Most important of all, got the student loan rolling, and talked at length with my banker about my investments. As a result, I'll be moving them on 01/09/08 into a different investment package. I'll get loads more peace of mind from this. LOADS.
2. Kitchen. Cleaned and reorganized partially. I made a special place for the best present I've ever received from a relative, my Tassimo machine. I love it!
3. Laundry. Still working on it, but I am down to the last load washing. I am not folding the daughter's clothes that she'd already washed.
4. My desk. I realized I couldn't stand sitting here and it was depressing me. Now my desk is all clean and pretty, with all my books-to-be-read that I have so far up on that shelf. The red plaid is my little blanket I curl up with.

5. Aquarium. Low in priority, but I miss my fish dammit, and now it is all clean and pretty again. And fishless. I want my angel fish back. He is big and yellow and beautiful, and my knife fish. So those two are coming back.
6. Christmas trash. Big stack of it in the dining area to be taken to MIL's dumpster tomorrow. I hate our trash policy here--you are only allowed to throw away what fits in the bucket give to you. Stupid. No one likes it. No one. It is crazy. MIL has a dumpster though.
So, that is it for this weekend. Next weekend I will tackle the kitchen cabinets, and my bathroom. During the week I should find out about both cars, too. Whew. Thankfully I shouldn't have to pay for either.
And lastly--tomorrow night, and the reason I cleaned the desk, I begin __________. I sure wish I had a working title rather than __________. Although ___________ leaves a lot of room for something truly astounding.
