So, I participated, because Nick asked me to so sweetly, in a Harry/Draco fic exchange. [livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays. It is only the second time I've ever written a fanfic for HP and lol probably the last, but it was lot of fun. http://community.livejournal.com/hd_holidays/89595.html if you'd like to read it.

What was super-fun though were all the great comments my fic got. Ahh, the ultimate buzz! I guess I was surprised! Nothing like instant gratification to make one's day. I was especially happy with two things (1) the comments re: Arthur Weasley and (2) all those who requested more. Honestly, this was meant to be a longer fic, but there simply wasn't time, and then I had to move on to other things.

Thenext few weeks are going to be busy around here. I'm going to have an extended guest, [livejournal.com profile] cruentum, and of COURSE I gotta scrub the house top to toe before he comes here. LOL. I think I'll make a list. Could be...overwhelming. :)

Not much else going on. Work plods along, new person hired to help me does more frustrating than helping. I get a little stressed about this, to say the least. Today was not a good day. I try, I took lots of good advice from Nick on changing my own approach, which did help, but...AHH! Sometimes I want to throw myself out the window! Argh.

I think I'll slide into bed, and read more Death Note. LOL. It won't be the same tonight though--it is lots more fun to read out loud to Nick. Maybe I should wake him up?

I still can't believe he's coming, for six weeks. I gotta admit...I already miss him, dammit. Corny, I know, but there you go. We're going to have so much fun...we do plan to post about our adventures. I for one have been pretty quiet here I know, so hopefully there will be some who enjoy it.

Carolyn, off to bed

Off-topic question for you:

I'm nearing the end of the NaNoWriMo project and, even though I shouldn't be wondering about this yet, I am anyway. When I start editing/rereading/redrafting/etc., should I rework a chapter at a time until it's where I want it to be or should I go through the whole piece, make those changes, then go through the whole thing again? What do you do?

Hope things are going well out there.

E

I am so thrilled by your progress Eric!!!! I am one who likes to get a chapter nailed then move on to the next one, and then go through the whole thing (a solid read-through) to make sure there aren't any problems with overall arcs and such. Some would say do that first, but I like to do it like this because I like to focus on just one section at a time to let the rewrite magic happen.

I so admire you, this is fantastic news! Congratulations!!!

I still have a ways to go (three chapters, probably close to 10,000 words still) so don't get too excited yet.

Your method gels with what I was thinking. I'll try it when the time comes and see how it goes. Thanks for the help!
