...to work when Nick is at my house, sitting on my bed, probably playing with my puppies...and watching my tv and on my computer...
Why am I here?????
I hate work!
Pout.
Can I leave yet?
Okay I wrote the above, went back to work for five minutes, then came back to add a few things.
Everything is going wonderfully well so far. Nick's been here just over three days--the last two were a freakin' whirlwind. Lots of time spent talking and just holding onto each other, enormously amazed to be together again. I am so hating how fast the days are going, already. Three days? How is that possible... Three days gone already?
Mostly so far we've done errands, I've showed him a bunch of Fort Worth (overwhelming a bit). Things are very different here, in good ways and not-so-good ways. His parents miss him, lots, so they've called bunches but that is okay. They just want to make sure he's okay.
Nick's really done well, talking with peoples here and there--we went to my bank for instance, and Nick meet my bankers, James and Joshua. I love my bank--all the guys' names begin with a J. I think that is required. There are, too, two Holly's, two Liz's. Too funny. We talked to them, and exchanged a bunch of traveller's checks into cash for Nick.
We went jeans shopping and Nick found some he liked--but they were too short. So we went to another Old Navy and just grabbed the longer ones off the shelf--yikes, did not try them on! Turns out they don't fit the same. Grrr. So now we have to take them back. Still, he got another pair, and he likes them, so that is good.
We also bought lots of fish yesterday and named them after Seaside characters. A black and gold Angelfish is Alex, the yellow one I had already, Ianto. There is an Iago and a Xel, and I think a Cesare...yes? The ghost knife is Cesare I think. And a Caprica and a Phedre. LOL. And there is one called Ink Stain as he looks like he has an ink stain on his sides. Iago is definitely a pest. LOL.
We are leaving for San Francisco on Tuesday. Get me out of here, NOW! We have an awesome hotel, The Pickwick, in an awesome location, and the first night we will meet the awesome
pir8fancier for dinner and who knows what other trouble. We aim to keep her captured for a few hours, as I think she needs a getaway.
Then, Iago's writer is the next friend we will meet (I've met three other online friends lately here, btw--what a treat!). Chelsea will be joining us the last two nights in San Francisco. I cannot wait to meet this wunderkind. She is so damn smart and a great writer and is sooooo young to be so darn clever. LOL. I can't wait to get to know her better. We're gonna go to Chinatown! And to Alcatraz! And ride street cars! And walk LOTS! And see museums! And everything we can possibly cram in!!!!!
SF is going to be amazing. Just amazing. Take me now!!!!!
I will post more as we do more. Tonight's treat--after I get off work, we're going to go stroll around downtown Fort Worth. It is chilly out so likely we'll stop somewhere for dinner. Maybe the Flying Saucer...live music is always nice. Just have to watch myself--it is really hard to behave sometimes. Smile.
Tomorrow--the Fort Worth Zoo!!! We love zoo's, and I love having Nick here to do the zoo with. LOL.
Okay back to work--I've managed to kill about 20 minutes. Good!
