Update on life. First off...if there are any Buffy/House crossover fans--I'd love it if you could read and comment on my niece's writing. You don't wanna know how old she is, but she is in a magnet school for literature and is not in high school yet. LOL. Her mom is my sister, and we're both shaking our heads in wonder. She writes this one with her dad (a musician and stay at home dad), alternating chapters, and he does not touch what she writes. He knows better. LOL. The intro is hers and hers alone, too. Meep. If I wrote like this when I was that age...!!!!

The pups posed for me this morning, so I had to take a picture, of course. (Yes, Nick, that is your blanket--yes, Nick, I think I will be buying you a new blanket)

(They are saying, "Come home, Nick! We wanna cuddle!")

I know--weirdo. But seriously--they keep me sane. Maddox especially. He's like velcro--follows me everywhere, and showers me constantly with affection. I had no idea huskies could be so amazing. Shelby is a sweetheart too--she's put on a little weight lately and finally has achieved that really healthy look. She is N's dog (smile), and as such will go to the airport with me to pick him up on 08-04.

Life is trundeling along in that department. Nick has at last received all the necessary papers so that he can travel to Berlin on the 25th and take care of the final requirement to obtain his Visa. The hoops that he's had to jump through to obtain that Visa have been amazing. But he's stuck with it, getting it done, sending in everything, talking to who he needed to, etc. YAY! Has the airline tickets, and it is 99.99% sure that he is coming for three months. We're sure it will all go well-just have to get that Berlin trip down.

It sucks. I love Berlin. The thought of N in Berlin without me makes me growl.

Three months together! It is going to be both beautiful, and hard in that it will end. Nick's got another year of school left to get through, and who knows after that. It is impossible to predict where his life will take him after that. I'm up for it though--that is after all the beauty of this relationship. We let the other fly where needed--it is amazing the places this has taken us already. What a sad and boring life I for one would lead otherwise. Here's to adventures ahead! Hopefully we'll get to go to England next--before the John Barrowman obsession moves over for something else. LOL. (I dunno--with Torchwood and Doctor Who, this could last awhile. Smile.)

Gonna be a super busy three months--am fully expecting that internship to wipe Nick out at first. LOL. Can't wait (caretaker mode, woo!). No real plans at this time to do anything extra. I am not sure I can afford it. An expensive summer is ahead, and I forgot I have to buy my son a whole new wardrobe for school. Uniforms! Ahh!

I am watching too much television. Doctor Who, Criminal Minds, and everything that my dear beloved tells me to that involves David Tennant and especially his current obsession, John Barrowman. I guess if I have to share Nick with anyone, let it be this guy, right? LOL. He *is* cute--and made of awesome. My only gripe with him though is he distracts Nick. /stomps foot/

My own obsession is Shakespeare--not just the writer, but the world around him. This means of course I am reading everything I can get my hands on about Shakespeare and the world of the playwright in England during the 1590's. I blame Doctor Who for this, btw. And I also thank Doctor Who for this. More on that later.

I am very very frustrated with Seaside, awaiting approval of my new character there. I just don't understand the Mods in that group. It is obvious they don't give a damn about the rest of us having a good time. Grrrr. Oh well--whatever.

And oh...yay! Got Jacqueline Carey's sixth Kushiel book the other day. Will start it at lunch! Woo! I hope it is as good as the last one, which was as good as the first one.

Aww thank you!!! Lexie has always been on the unique side--she writes there under another name too, but but she doesn't think we know about it. LOL. Nothing bad of course--but it is just ten steps from wild that she somehow fell into this, so young.

Kitty kitty--yeah, a cat is a perfect apartment pet. Hopefully you'll be able to do that someday.

Awwww, JB is totally worth obsessing over! :D

Sandman features Shakespeare in three awesome issues-- one of them is brief, but two of them are stories surrounding Shakespeare, and they're wonderful. One of those won a very nice award and after that the rules went SHIT NO MORE COMICS ALLOWED :P

I will keep doing the tiki-mask dance of mod summoning on behalf of you and Nick! Maybe in a few years, it'll work!

I knew you would agree with that obsession, silly. :)

Why no more comics allowed? I thought he was all into that.

And...do whatever you think helps. It is pretty disheartening, and I get a 'why care' mood going, but all of y'all on there keep me laughing and shaking my head so even if I'm not writing, I'm reading and enjoying.

Agree and encourage! :D I'm trying to get my local library to get a copy of his autobiography. None of the local Borders have it, waaah. Eventually I'll order it online or request it for my birthday or something, but in the meantime-- waugh I wanna read!

It was a World Fantasy Award for a short story, if I remember right, and I think it pissed people off that a comic issue won and not a more traditional short story, so the rules after that excluded comics. Gaiman himself still writes them, of course!

Yeah, it really is. Geez, when I've been a mod, I've pushed and pushed to recruit people and get them approved and accepted, so I can't understand this! Glad we can be entertaining through it, but waaah.

Oh Nick wants that baaaaad. The paperback won't be out for a long time, and I fully expect him to admit that he's bought the hardback. LOL. I'm not getting it for him though--nope, not feeding the obsession! :)

Oh okay. Cool. I gotcha.

Exactly. Maybe it is some perverse pleasure they get out of forcing people to wait--I know N and I are not the only ones waiting. *rolls eyes* I haven't looked today to see if anything is up, but Nick has been busy most of the day, so knew he at least was not writing.

Me toooo. That's why I want the library to get it so I can go ahead and read it without waiting till a paperback to do it. I do that with fantasy releases, for instance, check them out when they come out and then buy the paperback later. Very handy having a library less than 10 minutes away :D And it's in a town with an amusing chicken population that got loose decades ago, so sometimes chickens show up in the parking lot. When I went yesterday, for instance, I could hear a rooster crowing. Silly rooster crowing at 5 pm!

I can think of at least three people (you two included) waiting for approvals, so gah. WTF. Emerald said she doesn't handle the applications and stuff, so that's not in her hands-- but since Flesh is doing such a not-doing-her-job of it, maybe they really ought to get another person on board to handle applications. And nothing up today-- Dora-player also had finals grading to do since things were due today at 11 am her time. Maybe later we'll get to play if those two are un-busy!

Whenever you post about your feelings for Nick and how you both deal with the adventures in your relationship I fall in love with you two being together. You are wonderful people and I feel that you show the world that it's worth taking the risk to fall in love, even under the strangest circumstances. It's a wonderful lesson in how to embrace life.

Thank you so much. &hearts
