Coin Collecting, anyone?

An odd post to say the least, but anyone on this flist collect rare coins or know someone who does? I have a sizeable box of silver coins dating back to the 1800's that I want to learn more about. Especially what they are worth :). Most are silver dollars but I do have three Mercury dimes--those are apparently worth (or can be worth) quite alot.

Just curious!

In other news...Nick and I are going to fly to California to meet Chelsea, who we played with in San Francisco AND enjoyed here for part of her spring break. Our turn to invade! MWAH HA HA HA!!!!!!

My new fence gets put up tomorrow.

I tried to and totally failed at adopting another husky. Maddox wanted to bite his nose off (it was actually worse than that). Sigh. Very disappointing, but...this pup is a fantastic one, and I will believe that someone else will be lucky to have him. He is an absolute dollface. But HUGE! (I think Maddox might be intimidated by his massiveness--lol).

Nick is coming in 49 days.

I love CRIMINAL MINDS. If I were to write fanfic, I would write it about that group I think. Fascinating, all of them. :) I love ensemble casts...

I wish Nick would WATCH MORE LIFE ON MARS!!! PLEEEAAASSSSEEE!!!! (I can't watch until he does--don't ask, I just can't).

I am not sure if I got a John Barrowman fact today. *frowns*

And ohhh I am doing pretty well in the family standings re: Euro 2008 soccer. :) GO ME!!!!! N's family is quite amazed at my soccer prediction brilliance... :)

Anything else? No, not yet. I had an epiphany at lunch today, but that's for a closed post. Later. Or maybe not at all...

You should be able to find a lot of information on the internet.
See if there are any coin shows or coin dealers in your area. Don't take their word for anything though unless you get a couple of opinions. :)

HA! You are right about that. My next door neighbor is taking them to an appraiser for me tomorrow. Yes, I trust the neighbor, no worries there. :) He is retired, and can't sit still--is always doing this or that for me. LOL. I really adore him and his wife. He is full blooded Choctaw, absolutely fascinating.

I will be fascinated to see what they appraise at. If any seem worth anything, I'm going to put them to auction to see what happens. :)
