Sick today, left work early and crashed for exactly two hours before fetching Nick at TCU.

Writing progress:

1.  STAGE -- historical fantasy, first 2000 words written, solid outline set out (not too much, nor too little).  Got my characters settled, and I know where I am going.  PageFour is the writing program I use...Nick is also.  Very nice little outliner (not too much, nor too little).  Given I am working on a Windows 2000 laptop, PageFour is ideal as it is outliner/character organizer/wordprocessor compatible with Word all in one. Love it.  I believe in this story so much, and am excited to (finally) be (seriously) pursuing historical fantasy.  Gawd, so much to learn still about this genre.  The amount of research it's taken to figure out this story is a little crazy, but...worth it in the end, I hope.

2.  Loose-Id -- received go-ahead for mega fic in progress.  This is great news, as long fics seem to be my thing.  Should turn in soon--still in major rewrite mode.  Have signed up Red for an additional two years.  It is still selling happily, still get fan letters, still get requests for Lee's story, so...

3.  Lee's story -- no title, no plot yet, not really--will be somewhat a mystery, like Red was.    Goal length: around 120,000, I swear no longer.

I hate being sick.  Makes for sucky evenings--am no fun, you know.   Also sick--my son's computer. It had to be sent to have the power supply replaced. Under warranty, but has to use my computer. In my room.   So he, me, Nick, the dogs...  One big happy family!

Ha ha.

It's so good to hear that you're writing and know where you're heading with your story. Go, you! :-)

Get well soon!

LOL it is now nothing, nothing, nothing like what I was going to tell you about--but believe me, just pondering what to share with you, helped me figure it out! Too crazy. :)

Ah, this sounds mysterious indeed! Lol. And you sound like you're having so much fun and are full of energy. How do you do that while being sick? *is in awe*

I'm still in the process of collecting material and inspiration. I still have your wonderful email with all the questions you sent me to answer. I'm reading Middlesex at the moment and I love it to little pieces. Eugenides has created such a wonderful and lovable bunch of characters. Thank you so much for the rec!

Do you know some of Isabelle Allende's work? Middlesex reminded me a bit of her earlier books, like The House of the Spirits or Daughter of Fortune. I love her meandering way of telling her stories, and that's where Middlesex reminds me of Allende's books.
