So, a hurricane is headed toward Texas.  After the week I have had, I just shrug.

I have not been able to read any posts, or write, or email, or anything all week.  Work is too crazy, and the other reason is....

Tuesday, my house was broken into.  We know who did it--kid at my son's high school--but it seems like nothing will be done.  Have given all info to the cops, my neighbor, who has a brother who is a cop--saw everything and has provided info, the kid bragged at school....  but I don't believe anything will come of it.  It is very hard not to track down his house and say HEY YOU PEOPLE YOUR SON IS A THIEF!!!  Somehow I can't but help wonder if they don't know.

So, taken was--5 cameras, most expensive of which was 400 bucks, three computers (2 laptops and my desktop), the XBox and guitar hero stuff, a leather bag, and five guitars and an amp.  This computer we're on is kinda shaky but I had it at work, and my daughter's Macbook was somehow passed over.

Top it all off with the passing of my oldest dog, Scotty.  He'd been deteriorating so badly the last few days, we knew that something had to be done.  Took him to the vet's and ran a few tests and the vet confirmed that he was leaving us, so I made the decision to let him go.  I stayed with him, a choice I am glad I made.  So, we are down to three, and three it will stay--two huskies and a springer.  ONly now, that he is gone, do I realize truly how noisy and fretty he'd become!!!!

Hopefully the insurance will settle next week, and we'll be on new laptops.   I guess we'll be stuck with Vista, though this one had XP.  I'll just keep it as it is, as my 'desk'top' hooked up to this monitor and keyboard.

Just talked to Anthony--he is traveling up from Houston, SLOWLY, very slowly.   He decided to leave and try and stay ahead of the weather--hoping he will be in Dallas before midnight, but with the traffic---eeks, who knows?  Can't wait to see him again, and for Nick to meet him.

Okay that it--had enough drama for one week, that's for sure.  Anyone have recommendations for computers?  We rather like the Sony's!

Will catch up soon with the flist, but without a decent computer of my own...may be awhile.  Sigh.

Dang, C...sending you good thoughts. So sorry about the passing of Scotty. It's so hard losing them.

I was so hoping he'd go like your baby girl did, peaceful in the night--but it sounds nuts but it truly was wonderful and special to be there with him as he passed on. I really am amazed by how it was--and it was just good, very good, that I petted him and that's what he felt as he left. He lived almost 15 years--very very good for a Springer.
