Good stuff then:
Nick got exposed to my MIL's presence TWICE this week--and it went just fine! Not that MIL knows anything (NOTHING!) about Nick and I, but that's okay--she doesn't need to. She bought us Starbuck's both times we rescued her and took her home (the Caddy has a window that won't roll up--she's moving to a place with a garage so she is keeping it there until fixed, then we took her home). My MIL is a bit whacked, so that makes it easy to be around her (for the most part, if one can ignore the cold hard fact that she has switched from Dem to Repub--at least, I think so. She's pretending to anyway...one never knows with her).
Got my Obama yard sign. Need to put that up!
Discovered that English Breakfast tea w/milk is very tasty!!
The pups escaped again--but we found them immediately! That makes 11 for Maddox and 16 for Shelby!? I've lost count. An electric wire around the fence bottom is in their immediate future (see note on insurance check's delay--that will take care of it).
The laptop I want went off sale.... OOPS! THat's a whine! NEVER MIND!
We had awesome shish kabobs last night. Tonight's dinner will be.... Spaghetti? Not sure. Eating IN. LOL.
Have now finished (half in hand-writing) the first chapter of STAGE (historical fantasy). I have not had a Complete First Chapter in forever. I am in love with my little guy Gwion (and he/she who can say how that name came about will get a pressie!) and the whole plot and story, and hand-writing wasn't too bad. A little painful (ouch ouch hand and we tried different ways of holding our pens, annoying some guy studying books on Christianity nearby us lol).
Insurance guy PROMISES my new check will be here Wednesday. PROMISES!!!!!! (lol um yeah well...)
But the best thing of all is Nick is still here, there's still many more days of living and loving and enjoying ahead. One Day at a Time and all that--very important to remember.
C, concentrating on the positive, despite everything (I am trying! Really! I am!)

Date: 2008-09-22 05:40 pm (UTC)Yay for silver linings, a few at least. And yay for you and Nick and being generally awesome. Man, now I want spaghetti, but I think Boy has other plans. Hm.
And you know what other kinds of tea are awesome? Mint. Oh, ad lavender with a touch of honeybush and some milk. Mmmm. When you guys come back this way I need to hijack you and take you to my veggie tea place.

Date: 2008-09-22 11:58 pm (UTC)Generally awesome, yeah. For the most part! I had to chase him away from the computer long enough to do a few things though. LOL. There will be a party the night we bring our new laptops home, that's for sure! (and I might get this one fixed--at least looked at--when it isn't flickering, it's not a bad computer).

And any other optimistic song I can think of, all in my head at once.
Just because. A positive post deserves a positive response. And this insurance guy needs a positive kick in the posterior.
Whoops. Sorry.
