We were FINALLY able to take the pups to the dog park today. Living in Texas is so hard on Siberian Huskies--it just is too hot to let the huskies go have fun at Fort Woof until the temperature is in the mid-70's. Those temps finally came this week. Frankly I was worried--the last time Maddox had been at the park was at 10 months. He is now 17 months, and all boy. But he did great! Shelby did too of course. I now have a seat belt or Maddox and it makes it so much easier in the car-- am about to hook Shelby into the system, too. Nice not to have to fight the dogs from climbing into the front heh.
Afterwords, we all went for ice cream at Sonic.
Maddox trying to get a sip of strawberry shake from Nick:

Shelby and her cone--the angle makes her legs look short, but compared to better-bred huskies, her legs ARE short compared to Maddox and the other huskies that were at the park (she is my puppymill girl and I love her regardless).

Maddox scarfing his cone:

And a picture of both pups slurping up the good stuff:

Sonic is The Bomb, so say Maddox and Shelby. Nick and I both (but especially Nick) fell in love with a sweetheart of a little foster dog girl--supposedly lab mix, but I just saw pit mix. She had on a pink heart collar and silly pink ribbons around her back legs. She was the ONLY dog that I petted and even held that Maddox wasn't jealous of. I know she will go to a good home. It was alot of fun, alot of dogs, and we're going back tomorrow. Definitely.
It was a nice day, even though I had a crisis in writing. Am just not sure what I am doing anymore with my writing. Not happy with anything. But I did notify my editor I had a manuscript completed and ready to turn in. That's something, at least.
C, pretty much bordering on the emo now that Nick's return to Germany is exactly two weeks from today
