Wherefor art thou, oh laptop? Surely you are fixed by now and can come back to me? Please? Your decision to break has truly interfered with my writing schedule. Nano is not to be, thanks to thee.

Grr.

No biggee though--am working on other aspects of Stage. Wasn't doing Nano to 'win' anything, just to get started back into serious-writing mode, and that I am, that I am. (YES!)

Headlining news this week is Circuit City's bankruptcy...oy! No kidding, just like so many retail stores, this one is having big problems. The store where N and I got our laptops closed a month and five days after opening. Had to take my laptop to another Circuit City--this one is staying open, been successful in its spot for 18 years. Still--I had a momentary panic that it would shut its doors before I got my laptop back. That would so not be cool.

BTW, did I mention today is Nick's 24th Birthday??? :)

Am at work, not working. Very slow this week--even the Railroad is making cut-backs. And when a Class I railroad does--yikes! But my job is fine--there is only me in the research department, and to get rid of me would be...stupid. (I hold onto that thought, hard).

Boss leaves today to go out of town for three days...work is slow... mmmm...even though this puts me into billing hell, I am being a bit bad today by writing at work. Or rather, rewriting chapter 1, working in some little tidbits with my bad guy that I came up with thanks to a discussion with my teenage daughter who has very clear ideas about what kind of men are scariest. LOL. She had a great point though. Very great.

I have to meet my dear nephew tonight at the house at 7--he lost his job, found another, but it is one of those Financial Advisement type jobs...I told him flat out I wasn't interested in the services, would no way move my finances anywhere else, etc., but he could practice his spiel on me. He jumped readily on that. I am a good aunt. Or trying to be. I feel for him though--all too typical situation he's in. Young, married, two kids under 4, wife stays at home because daycare too expensive... I'm glad to help even if only as a guinea pig.

Back to work(?). Or, maybe back to wikipedia.org and a marvelous Elizabethan site I found last night that kept me up until midnight, pawing my way through...

BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!
