My family is super-small, and therefore I don't get much. I got $100 from my dad, which went toward buying gift cards for the kids, another $100 from my MIL, which will go to buying Tiff's dresser she needs--she is living out of laundry baskets, and I am sick of it.

Got some gorgeous towels with R on them from my MIL...which I have given to Tiff to sock away for when she gets her own place someday.

Got a new chain for the necklace Kel gave me. This was from the kids. I'd actually been happy to stop wearing that necklace, but it seems it is important to them...and the chain is gorgeous, so I am wearing the necklace again, for them. That's okay--they miss their dad and I vowed, despite my own feelings, to keep him part of our lives. The good part of him--of which there was plenty. I've just moved on...the kids never will, neither will my MIL...but that is to expected. Nothing wrong with that. I just keep myself to myself. I am good at that, after all.

I also got a killer Starbuck's coffeemug from my daughter. It is HUGE!!!

And that is all.

Had fun last night though--went to friend Leigh Ann's house--her parents that is, though she lives there too--it is WONDERFUL! It is the kind of house I would love to have. Seriously. It is perfect. The only bad thing, and I only know this because Leigh Ann told me, that her parents went into serious debt for this house. But they lived in a dangerous neighborhood where drug houses were cropping up, and they were scared to stay. So they've mortgaged the rest of their lives to the hilt. At least the new house is beautiful. Small but beautiful. I loved it.

It was great fun. Took the Tiff with me, Leigh Ann had all her family there, some other friends, our former boss Tommy whose wife died a month before Kel did. He has never nor will ever get over losing Cora. Leigh Ann's always kept an eye on him, and I am the backup--Tommy is just a fascinating person, and I know it means alot to him that we, and my co-worker Cody, who is always making Tommy meet him for lunch, keep him in our lives. And us in his. I think having lost so much--my mom, Kel, my dad to his new family, my sisters to their lives (and I still haven't heard from Leslie and I do not like this AT ALL), and seeing my MIL lose not just the one child to an early death, but the other two to their evil selfishness...taking care to keep an eye out on those who I know who don't have anyone around seems all the more important. That could be me some day. Shudder.

The dogs are lazing around. Shelby kept talking at me this morning. She is so funny--not sure what I would do without her, as she is just the best companion.

Plans for today--relax, watch Criminal Minds, the Doctor Who special (and making N watch it again since he was bad and watched it without me...LOL), read (which I am about to do--reading Patricia Brigg's first Mercy book), and then work on plot.

GYWO will start up soon. This weekend, I will be devoting to straightening out some things, writing, and contemplating. I'll have another four-day weekend next week too, which is an awesome way to start GYWO.

It is 71 degrees out there today. UNREAL. I may be forced to turn on the a/c later!! North Texas weather is nuts.

More later, probably...

Awwww, I love the husky talk. I'm a bit frustrated at mine right now. It's a moment of "What if I didn't have pets". Naturally, I could never have a life without pets, but some days it is nice to imagine.

I love Shelby's voice...she is my woo'er, always letting me know what she thinks of things. If I am ignoring her too much she lets me know.

It got up to 79 degrees today--unreal.

High today 69...Low 29. Talk about a point spread! Rain turning to ice later tonight.

Lucy is quite talented in the vocals department. If woo's and yowls don't get her what she wants, she barks...and barks...and barks.

Kinda funny till she's wanting me to stop paying attention to that "other" woman in the room.

Are you ready, Anthony? I am sorta...I suppose. Now that I am thinking Series, I am thinking Overall Arc. It is straining my brain a bit. LOL

sam only makes one half yawn/yowl sound. it means everything. "let me outside", "feed me", "play with me", "pet me", "i'm bored"... haha. other than that one noise, he hardly makes a sound.
he won't even bark once to let us know when we wants to come back in from outside.

i can't believe how warm it is there! unfair! we just got hit with three snowstorms. the sidewalks are gone and the roads are horrible because most of them are only wide enough for one car at a time. now they are saying we will be getting 50mm of rain. so all the snow will melt on top of all the rain and there is nowhere for it to drain because the sewers are covered with snow drifts.
yay floods! ugh
wanna switch countries for awhile? :D
