Nick is in Switzerland. Those close to us know just why this sucks so bad.

Just a few more days to endure though...although, sigh, N was bad TWICE today and called from his cell phone. If you can imagine, this was not a good idea...international rates suck, but international rates with him in another country? OY OY OY OY EEK!!!!!!

I told Nick we should put a paypal button on our lj's... LOL. But, considering what we USED to pay in phone charges, back in the early days four-ish years ago...this is nothing, now.

Having a long-distance relationship isn't that difficult--IF there is a phone. We talk...often. Lots. Every day, sometimes 7-8 times a day, morning noon and night. Chat on gmail just doesn't hold a candle to that little rectangle pressed against one's ear, with that wonderful voice on the other end. We don't like to whine, of course--we have too many friends who have long-distance loves who aren't able to travel like we can, due to family situations, work situations, etc. We are very, very fortunate. VERY.

But I want my N back in Kiel. I want that phone talk back!

It has been odd. I thought, whilst he was in Switzerland with family (sis and family live there) that I would be pounding the keyboard, writing my heart out, etc. etc....but I find that not to be true.

Instead, I have been STARVING for People. I spent all day yesterday on gmail, chatting away to 3-4 friends...do you guys have ANY idea how much of a life-saver that was? HUH? No, of course not...but thank heavens for you all.

In any case (gosh I love to say that!) Nick is in Switzerland, with his new camera, and I am making him take lotsa pictures. He's posted a link to an amazing sideshow in his lj...this just from one day's drive with the 'rents up to the higher mountains to find snow.

For a few moments of peace and beauty, check it out, won't you? I will be so very happy if you did.

I know how you feel. We're saving up to move, and we still need to make trips to work on the house. :)

I want snow--just once--but I admit, I am grateful to live in Texas (though the proximity to Shrub's new house is disturbing).

Those were fantastic, but make me long to see that area of the world again.

I don't cook but I also don't like cockroaches either, so I clicked on the link and I'm glad I did. Those are some fantastic shots!
