I think I'll go buy a few copies. Debut author, he wrote what sounds like a great vamp novel--even with a love story--and wham, because he refused to renounce his 'sin' of writing this book and apologize (WTH?) he is out out out. This is yet another example...
Geesh.

Date: 2008-12-31 06:16 pm (UTC)I can't help wondering how anyone could be a member of a church and not realize the subject matter of his book might be viewed in a less than friendly manner by the congregation. I mean, the majority of us have sense enough to think before we divulge information about ourselves to strangers, and even more sense when it comes to the people we do know. Pardon the pun, but it's a church for heaven's sake.
Is this a clever marketing ploy? What better way to draw attention to a book than to create a controversy around it? Damn good idea if you ask me. Isn't the first time and I doubt it will be the last. At any rate, I'd have to see more proof that this actually happened before I took his plight as (pardon the pun again) the gospel truth. Does the story appear anywhere else without having his fingerprints all over it?
If the story is true, my apologies to Mr Kessler. We've all had people, or a group of people reject us for one reason or another and it hurts. It often feels like we're careening down a mountain road no longer in the drivers seat. That's the proverbial time to take the lemon and make lemonade...which appears to be just what Mr Kessler has done.
Luvs ya Snookums, but even Oprah has been scammed by at least one or two authors.
