Man is, and will always be, his own worst enemy. Our need to destroy is as tightly woven into our DNA as the desire to create. It is our nature. To merely unlock the secrets of the universe will never be enough. In the name of science, we rush toward Armageddon with open arms, ready to embrace our own destruction.
Just piddling. Kinda sums up my character's feelings on the future of mankind's survival. On an even deeper level, he believes that good and evil cannot exist without each other. The old "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." theory. Not sure if this is going anywhere, and not really positive that I can even make it somewhat believable. I know why a star dies, but actually killing one is a whole nother ballgame. SciFi readers seem to demand a detailed explaination of the science involved and as near as I can tell, ain't nobody out there in cyberspace who has even thought about it enough to comment on the subject.
