Oh my, we picked Tiffany up at the airport and took Maddox and he got so much attention and pets he was overwhelmed and fell asleep on Tiff while we waited for her baggage. Poor little guy!!!



In the Happy News department, Nick has a new home, YES! Well, papers to be signed Monday, but he won't be homeless and the new flat is absolutely beautiful. And, he got his internship, so that definitely means that come February, Nick will be hopping on that big beautiful Lufthansa plane and zooming his way here for his first visit to the U.S. I cannot WAIT to show him how life is here, as I so enjoy exploring the German culture there. The only bad thing is I will have to work every day, except for the week I take off for our road trip to my sister's and hopefully humming_along's new digs. I am so worried he will get bored, stuck here with three dogs, the house, and waiting on me.

It will be SO nice to come home to a good German meal every night... whee! LOL. (Nick is a really good cook and I can't wait to load him up in the car and go to the German Deli and buy all the proper mixes and ingredients he'll need).

I was bored and lonely at home tonight, even the puppy was asleep, so I put him in the crate and went to B&N for an hour or so. I haven't been in there in quite awhile and it was quite nice and fun. Got a vanilla latte (S/F F/F) and browsed and chatted to people and the guy who made my coffee for me sang The Snicker's Song (???) to me. LOL. Flirty much? Too funny. I looked at the non-fiction table, and the calendars as we don't have a 2007 and it has been driving me nuts--got an August 07 to December 08 Butterfly calendar. Absolutely gorgeous. Now *I* can start marking off the days to Nick's visit. Whee!!!!

How odd, I had a thought and it disappeared out of my head.

So, that means, I must of course now go to bed!

Kelly will be at home with us. Tiffany was just in Atlanta a couple of weeks, is home for six, then is off to school.

And thank GOD our private financial aide loan got approved. The kid is about to be happily in debt! LOL. But we're still working on the school financial aide package because of the social security nightmare. That was all so ridiculous. We've had to appeal, and we will get the appeal and they know it, yet they made us count her SS in the initial package. Growl. Once that appeal is approved, since I make no money, lol, then Tiff will be eligible for grants like the Pell grant and another one for med students. So we'll actually have to shell out more this first semester than we would normally have had to if all that crap had been straightened out. Unreal!!!!

But she is GOING! Got her dorm, she's got her roommate, she's on the 9th floor and the only thing we have left to buy is a new refrigerator.

That's great about Tiff. Too bad about the first semester. Colleges are terrible like that now. :/

So Tiff and Kelly will be able to help Nick get into plenty of trouble.... ;)

I hope Nick isn't too disillusioned by the US...

LOl nooo Tiff and Kelly don't get to play with Nick. Okay that isn't true--Tiff won't be here likely at all, but Kelly will be. He'll be doing his own thing though. He thinks it is great that Nick is coming to the U.S.

I don't think Nick will be--the political climate aside, there is alot here to enjoy so we will have fun. We'll do one big road trip but I plan to take him to Austin for a weekend of course, and Dallas of course, and who nows where else we can go on a weekend.

During Spring Break week, both of the kids will be in Europe! Too funny. They're actually going to be going to Germany, though down in Bavaria, not where I like to stomp around (though I'd like to go to that area someday)
