For some reason, I've not been in the mood for quite awhile to write an lj post. There's alot going on in life these days...October was a busy month. So since I am a lazy git today, and I have had alot going on, I am just going to do a list! A totally random list.

1. Nano starts soon. I am cparagraphs on Nano--feel free to add me. I have my historical fantasy listed as my fic, but I am working on ballet boy. Yup, already started it, have 40k of it done, but that's too bad. I'm all into it again, happily plugging away. Spent 5 hours at B&N yesterday working on the synopsis. I don't have to have one for Loose-Id, but it is helping me make sense of all the crazy writing I did at the beginning of the year on this. I want this puppy done, so I can move on to other things in 2010. So no one tell on me, okay? LOL.

2. Nano write-ins. I am going to be hitting B&N after work every day, and first thing on Saturdays. Yes, this is insane, of course it is. I doubt seriously my hands and forearms will like this plan, and I am bound to skip days, but will do my best. So far, there are at least two writers in the area who have websites that make me nod--okay, good, not religious epic writers. Good. I am serious--they abound in this area. I want to avoid them.

3. I put my Loose-Id info on my Nano author info. Figure people can check that and if they are horrified I write m/m fiction, then that will head them off at the pass.

4. My husky boy is not amused that I am feeding him a high quality dog food, Taste of the Wild. He is spoiled rotten--he has tried to hold out to force me to feed him raw food. I'm not budging. I am tired of playing chef to the dogs. I love them, but they need to get healthy and this dogfood is one of the best. The girls like it just fine, and I've already seen the increase in energy in Shelby. This morning--ZOOMIES! They ran and ran for what seemed like hours. Cracked me up.

5. I love the BBC show You Are what You Eat. It is stunning the transformations Jillian, the nutritionist, instigates with the Brits who agree to have her help them. What is really stunning to me though is the junk these people eat...so far, no banofee pies though! I'm waiting! One of the trainers from Biggest Loser is going to do a show similar here. Good!

6. Work this last week was a real pain. Our Silent Admin got a verbal (lol) warning about her behavior. She cried all day Thursday after that. Will she change? I have no idea, but she tried, and failed, to throw Kevin under the bus. It tossed back and smacked her hard.

7. Work cont'd. For months, years (it feels like) I've been the person scanning deed files for the guys in Topeka. This is time-consuming, boring, but with my podcasts, its bearable. Plus its been good for the billing since we have to bill for everything we do. Well, last week, they disappeared. This freaked me out at first as I depended on those for 2-3 hours of work every day, but it looks like it will be a good thing.

For several months, I've been wanting to start learning GIS. The boss knew this, Allan our head of GIS knew this, but week after week passed and... Well. I was talking to Allan when the deeds disappeared, and told him I NEED SOMETHING TO DO OH MY GOSH! He got all excited, and said OH BOY! I've been needing help! At that point I wanted to kick him. He's a friend so I likely could get away with it. Turns out he thought I was 'too busy' (SCANNING DEEDS? HELLO?) to be of help to his group, which I am not a part of. So all last week I helped with a GIS project, which was great fun.

So tomorrow, FINALLY, ArcGIS will be on my computer. FINALLY I will start to train on the program, and how we use it for the railroad. Allan's all excited as he's needed help for a long time--I pretty much wanted to scream (and did inside my head). GEESH MAN!!! I love him to death, but he does not THINK sometimes! So YAY! Rock on! FINALLY!!!! It'll be a huge learning curve but I am absurdly happy about this.

8. Treadmill and Couch to 5k. Okay had setbacks there due to stupidly running with the dogs and inflaming my sciatic nerve again, and then the camera project wiped me out, so fell off the track. And promptly gained two lbs! NOT COOL! Well now I am back on track, back to my weight, and loving that treadmill beyond reason. Amazing how just doing interval running every other day makes such a difference in how I feel and re: my weight. Love it.

9. I am seriously addicted to stuffed jalapeno poppers. Jalapenos cleaned out, cream cheese, thin slice of cheddar, wrapped in sugar-free bacon, baked in 425 oven for 45 minutes--OH YEAH BABY!

10. Today has been too quiet.

Good luck on NaNo! *feels sorry for all my friends who plan on doing it*

LOL Make a post! Make a good post! I don't like to talk about myself much, and talk in email or okay twitter. Blame twitter. It is too easy to plunk down quick thoughts and be done with them. Fits my short attention span.

Yeah, I tend to not post too much on LJ because many of my friends are people I know in RL and therefore can see my facebook or I see/call/text/email them fairly often. The other people are for the most part awesome fic writers who have like a bajillion friends and I don't really expect to read my posts.

I do like going back and looking at my LJ entries though, as sort of a journal. I used to keep a physical journal, but don't anymore, so to some extent LJ serves that purpose as well.

I fucking love jalapeno poppers more than I love my life or anything else. OH GOOD GOD YES. I'm actually aroused just thinking about eating them.

Um, but without the bacon, because I don't eat non-tofu meats.

LOL how do you make yours? Do tell! I won't fry anything though--The only other way I know is cheese-stuffed and fried.

I think Blue wonders about us both. I am out of peppers though, so it'll be a few days before I restock. LOL.

I don't make for my hands are not talented in that way; I buy. They're just pepper and cheese, and wrapped in bread crumbs and holy hell. I should probably try and make them though, that would actually be healthier.

DUDE. The waffle fries kicked arse! They were Alexia brand, if you ever find them there. My faggots were tasty, too.

See, I don't like jalapenos b/c they're spicy. But, say, red peppers w/ cheese and breadcrumbs? Those sound yummy. Or, oooh, yellow peppers! Yummers!

Gillian not Jillian. I should know better! This show is what got my daughter's act together when I couldn't. She's lost 25 lbs. so far. If I could only get through my son's head! :*(

Wasn't saying it to correct you. I know Jillian Michaels spells it with a J. 25lbs is a great loss. I could do with some motivation myself. If I had Gillian coming to visit I'd probably lose some weight too. Kelly will probably get motivated when it matters to him, it's hard to make young people see the long term health risks.

LOL. Who is in your user pic? You should! Join me!

Maddox is grumbly, but he finally eats it then he zooms around like crazy. My old dog really likes it alot, and Shelby will eat anything. They are so funny. I have to drive a bit to get it in the little town where I worked a couple of weeks ago, but there is KILLER BBQ just across the street, so well worth the trip every few weeks. :)

I'm still going back and forth on NaNo with Dad's passing; I just don't know if my heart will be in it. Maybe I'll at least start and see what happens.

I fucking love that show You Are What You Eat. Nothing gives me a bigger pick me up on a day when I'm feeling like a loser than the depiction of people who are too stupid to know that you need to eat food, not fried starch washed down with booze. And then seeing the fear - FEAR! - in their eyes as they're informed that they will need to eat vegetables.

I could do without the poop segment though. Really.

Oh lord the one I watched today? Family of three plus boyfriend 'name that poop' - OH LORD!!!!

Now...I've been overweight, obese, and I know how hard it is to stop, turn everything on one's heel, and head the other direction.

The last five years have been so much about doing just that. At 42 I was more like 62, and I really didn't believe that I could change things. It was hard, very, very hard, but I fought through and kicked 72 lbs. out of here and de-aged myself more than I could have ever believed. I wish I had the educational background to help others professionally, but, smile, I've helped friends and family despite that lack. My daughter, my sister and her spouse, co-workers, a husky-owning friend of mine...sometimes, it just takes someone else grabbing a person's hand, showing them how they can do it too. That's really what the show does. I did it on my own with tons of trial and error. The show helped Tiff the daughter a great deal.

I love the before and afters. You should see mine!

You make a good point. Editing may well be at work here; they could be depicted as too dumb to know the difference, when really they're just convinced that they're not strong enough to *make* the difference. I was being flippant, and it was probably unfair.

I also meant to drop a comment about how I know using the show as a personal pick me up is the worst of impulses to watch Reality TV; it's what RTV plays on, and it's not a good thing.

I do especially like the after interviews, too -- the poeple seem so much happier! And they look better. Not the weight; the time frame of the show usually isn't enough time to make a radical difference in the weight. They look oxygenated, cleaner systems, you know? That glow of not-about-to-die-any-moment.

1) I'll try and ride the wave - I won't make NaNo, writing that fast is not good for me, but I'll try and go along and put another 20K on the book. If it will cooperate.

5) I've never seen that show, but it sounds as if it might help. Jamie Oliver did something similar with school dinners, and it's made a big difference to people's perceptions of food.

7) YAY GIS. Yay extra training.

8) Sounds like you're in a good place and finding what works for you. I wish my schedule and the weather would cooperate to allow me more cycling time.

Start measuring your weight in kilos! It's much harder to gain 2 of them!

My pets eat kangaroo. I should be less blase about feeding them one of the animals on our national crest, but I'm not. I can't bring myself to eat it, so hypocrite much??

My entire Nano group has asked me "who is this cparagraphs person"? I've replied A PUBLISHED AUTHOR. BOW DOWN IN AWE. (And my friend, because I wanted a friend that wasn't you lot, not that I don't like you lot BUT I NEED AN ADULT!)

I really hope that throwing under the bus is a euphemism. I got a horrible flash of "Mean Girls" there for a second!

WAIT. WAIT. WAIT. SUGAR FREE BACON??

SINCE WHEN DOES BACON HAVE SUGAR IN IT? HOLY FREAKING CRAP!

LOL. Don't freak out--I dont' always use sugar free--most have it and I really can't tell the difference. I only get it when I go to Krogers as they are the only ones that at least advertise it. I honestly prefer the deli bacon. It rocks!

I hope they don't follow me back to my author info and discover what one of my books is about... OH MY!

Euphemism, yes. But that's pretty much what she tried to do.

I said 'good morning' to her and she wouldn't look up. I am killing her with my kindness, cuz I can't really be any other way than my cheerful happy nice self.
