Stolen away from sanginmychains. The closer we get to vacation, the more antsy I get, the less likely I'll get anything useful accomplished, especially having to do with writing. (Two weeks from tonight, Nick and I will be safely ensconced together in our room at Ty Rosa in Cardiff, um, sleeping? *checks time* Probably.)

So instead of working on my dark_fest fic like I should be, continuing hammering-out all my old fantasy stuff I am resurrecting which is turning into quite the fun task, I answered this meme going around, and watched American Idol. Yes, I have a favorite. Do you?



01) Are you currently in a serious relationship? Yes, with cruentum
02) What was your dream growing up? I wanted to be an artist. Unfortunately, I simply didn't have the talent.
03) What talent do you wish you had? I guess being able to fly is not a talent?
04) If I bought you a drink what would it be? I'm not picky. Ice tea unsweet of course. (I am not a drinker, truly). Okay a margarita on the rocks would work.
05) Favourite vegetable? SWEET POTATO! Plain, baked in the oven, with Tony Cachero's cajun seasoning sprinkled lightly on it. NOM NOM NOM BEYOND REASON!!!
06) What was the last book you read? Day of the Triffids, as recommended by misswinterhill after we discussed our mutual love for atomic-era science fiction movies. "You must read the book! IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE MOVIE!" she insisted, and she was right. I enjoyed it like crazy beans.
07) What zodiac sign are you? I am a Gemini. Not that I believe in that stuff, but...sometimes? The descriptions scarily fit my divided self.
08) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? No tattoos, never will be. Pierced ears, single piercing only.
09) Worst Habit? I don't know? Ask Nick.
10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride? I'd walk with you.
11) What is your favourite sport? Used to be roller skating. LOL. I used to be very sporty, growing up...but it's been a long time since I've devoted the energy to pursuing anything. I was never a team sport person...I think if I lived somewhere beautiful, I'd turn to hiking, with my pupsters.
12) Do you have a Pessimistic or Optimistic attitude? I try to be optimistic, but I worry alot--comes with the territory, I think, of being a single parent of kids on the verge of becoming independent, and wishing I could do more to help them. Although if you ask them, I worry too much. So it depends on if I am in freak-out mode or not. So...I don't know, I try not to be, but I do fall into the pessimistic camp now and then.
13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me? We would call for help and then we would open the top hatch and pull ourselves up and climb to the next floor. Hell yeah!
14) Worst thing to ever happen to you? Watching someone I loved deal with an illness that couldn't be beat. That was the hardest three years of my life, and yes, it took a very huge toll on me too. It also made me stronger.
15) Tell me one weird fact about you. One thing? I *AM* weird, through and through.
16) Do you have any pets? Everyone knows mah huskies! Shelby and Maddox (see user pic) and Claire, my Springer Spaniel.
17) What if I showed up at your house unexpectedly? I'd grab my keys and say 'Let's go get coffee!'
18) What was your first impression of me? Soooo smmmaaarrtttt and creative and you were so nice to me, the first person in the Torchwood fandom to be mah friend.
19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary? I don't feel one way or the other re: clowns.
20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be? I changed myself already and am very proud of how I look now. Stomach could be tighter *curse the kids* but there isn't much I would change. Except, perhaps, to be be numerically younger (though I don't mind my age either)
21) Would you be my crime partner or my conscience? Depends on the crime! Been years since I've toilet-papered a house...
22) What colour eyes do you have? Hazely-green, sometimes more green than other times.
23) Ever been arrested? No.
24) Bottle or can soda? I am not a soda drinker, but if I do indulge? Bottle.
25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it? Silly question. Go see Nick of course!
26) What's your favourite place to hang out at? Home.
27) Do you believe in ghosts? No.
28) Favourite thing to do in your spare time? All spare time is devoted to a. Nick or if he is asleep, b. reading. Should be writing, but I have to be honest...right now, not writing because I am too excited about vacation.
29) Do you swear a lot? No, unless I am truly angry or upset.
30) Biggest pet peeve? Whining.
31) In one word, how would you describe yourself? FIERCE!
32) Do you believe/appreciate romance? Smiles at Nick.
33) Favourite and least favourite food? Favorite: JALAPENO POPPERS! My addiction is crazy. I also am WILD about apples--Honeycrisp especially. Least favorite? I had Ethiopian once with my friend noclues and I hated it. But it was an interesting experience at least! I am not a fan of gooped-up food either. Like...stuff all over steak, slopping all over and slimy. Ewww.
34) Do you believe in God? No.

i think the world is conspiring against me to get me to eat sweet potatoes. i've had them before, long ago, but didn't like them. this post is the fourth thing in the last few days to mention them. it's a sign! LOL.

and not sure if 'flying' is a talent or not but that's what i'd pick too. :)

GIVE ME WINGS!!! I will fly anywhere! ALmost. NOT into the sun.

I just bought 6 giant sweet potatoes. I didn't like them like this until recently. It is definitely a phase I am going through. :)
