Yes, I signed up. It is all [livejournal.com profile] katilara's fault. She made me do it. (Always nice to have someone else to blame, yes?) I've never done it before, never felt serious about wanting to. But this year? My November is clear, as is December and January. Three months, 50,000 words a month for 150,000 total by February 22. And why is that date important to me? That is when Nick arrives for six weeks of good ol' fashioned Texas pleasure fun!

Please let me know if you are doing it too. The Nanowrimo, I mean. cparagraphs is my name and dark fantasy is the game.

Now, I am not sure how to make this link say something cute, but here is where I am: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/225415

I also bought one of these from Ebay today.

I had one years ago, earlier model of course, and found it extremely convenient. I stupidly gave it away to someone who now, LOL, I imagine burned it because of her warped ideas of who I am. Growl. Snark. I don't give a damn. I am pleased with the purchase and chose not to get the wireless one. The idea is to NOT have internet, and yet be able to tote this puppy wherever I go.

I have signed up for my region's group kickoff which will be this weekend at the Ol' South Pancake House. It has been open since 1962--oh so long ago--and actually was part of a bowling alley, Let's Bowl. I remember going to it when I was little. They had animals like monkeys there too. Let's Bowl eventually burned down--a tragedy!--but the pancake house was saved. Yay! It is, well, old but it has Atmosphere. So anyway, Sunday am doing that--gonna FORCE myself to MEET PEOPLE. Oh my gosh I do not know about this. People? Me? Shudder....

Shelby is doing great. She is putting on some weight finally, and her coat is thickening for winter. I have all four dogs on Canidae--which is all meat, veggies and fruit. NO GRAINS. (To those of you who are out there who have pups--look at your dog food ingredients. Is corn on there? If it is, I send out a plea to rethink what you are feeding your dog. Why? Dog foods with corn are almost always rated very low in nutritional value. To get enough nutrition, a canine--which is NOT a cow--must eat 2-3 times what a normal meat-based diet would require, and that is 2-3 times more POOP!!! Ugh. On Canidae, I feed the dogs far less than I did on cow-food dog food, which is what corn based diets are. Ugh. If you wanna know more, just ask. I'm soooo all about feeding high quality food. I drive to Weatherford to get the Canidae and it is worth it. Two big bags last a month for four and they are looking mighty good.

Okay sorry. I am just really carried away with proper nutrition for my dogs. LOL. Anyway, here's the kids... Maddox of course is the black and white, Shelby the red and white.

Enjoy!

Kisses:

Killer Maddox

Maddox hangs off the bed like this ALL the time

Maddy the Muddy--I wasn't sure where he got the mud from

I figured it out in about two seconds

Yes, he is cuuuuttteeee

Playing with Shelby aka going for her throat when she isn't looking

Shelby so pretty! She looks so very much better than she did six weeks ago!

Shelby and her Moose

Okay that is it! Ta da!

So don't forget if you wanna be my NanoBuddy to leave your name here or hunt me down at cparagraphs on the site. Okay? Greatness!

Carolyn

Mmm...see if I blame you, then Nick won't fuss at me so much. I think. And well yeah, Nick did tell me it was your fault re: the Brotherhood 2.0. I want to watch more this weekend. :) Gotta finish Prison Break too--I can't blame you for that at least!

Man I wish I had the time to do Nanowrimo but I just finished a huge fic and I think I need a break to do art! LOL But honestly, one year I gotta just bite the bullet and try to do it, because I write soooo sloooow and it would be neat to see what garbage I come up with when trying to write as much as possible without ANY editting LOL

That is the trick--turning off that damn editor. I have this story all mapped out, and this weekend will break it purposely down to 'this week write to this point, this week to this...' and all the way through until February. I am looking at this as a three month venture. It took me 9 months to write Red in its original form--around 300,000 words--lol--so this should be nothing once I allow myself to get into the groove. THAT Is what I have been unable to do--for years. Since writing Red aka Odyssey. Sad.

Sweet god, 300,000 words! The fic I refer to as The Epic (which I just finished) was only 35,000 and took me more than a year to write all that LOL But perhaps I can use it as a stepping stone to write BIGGER next time LOL

I do have a fantasy story or two I'd love to get out of me, had the plots in my head for years! LOL

Nope, not doing it. Burned out a bit to be honest. Also getting arc from PPP so that will keep me occupied for a bit during November.

I'd love to have a bash at NaNoRiMo but everytime I allow myself to contemplate it my revoltingly domineering common sense simply shouts "Final Year!" and "Dissertation!!!" at me and so sadly I don't think I'll be entering this year either.

The pics of the doggies are soo cute! (Love Shelby's moose!) All of mine back home are ill :-(. Amber, Jack and Ellie Mae have caught a cough off some other dogs (despite the fact that other dogs, Ben and Sandy, were sent home and quarintined as soon as anyone noticed their cough) and Ferny, who has only just been getting physio to get over her last leg operation has now had to have the other leg done the same so apparently she's shaved and hopping again- only worse because she's got used to limping with the other leg, which now has to take weight again. the worst of it is I'm not there to spoil and coddle her ;)!!

Like is true with Nick--UNI FIRST!!!

Oh my let's see, how many dogs does that make for you then? Six? WHat? LOL.

I only have four... LOL. I can't imagine NOT having anyof these. Even Scotty who is a big pain in the butt. :)

lol. They don't all live in the same place thankfully, there's Fern (beagle) who is my Auntie Irene's dog (and more mine than the others because it was utterly my idea that Auntie Irene stole!) and then Amber (Weimeraner) who is Auntie Maura's and the oldest followed by Baby Jack (Irish Wolfhound) and Ellie Mae (runty Burmese) who belonged to Auntie Maura's friend Gwen who died of cancer last winter. So erm five...plus Auntie Maura's current boyfriend's two dogs (who started the cough off) Ben and Sandy who are labradory and heinz variety dogs ;)

I know. It's all rather wild, though Auntie Maura does live in the countryside (mostly so she could have more dogs! ;) )

I've decided I'm going to use Google's online word processing software so that, if I'm on my MacBook, I can still access the file without constantly switching the file back and forth. Assuming I finish the story and want to print it out/save a copy of it, I'll export and download it to my computer.

I wish I could do Nano, but November will be such a busy month - like every year! I guess I will have my personal Nowrimo once in the summer. But sharing it with all the other people sounds like so much fun and excitement. I'm looking forward to your posts about how things are going!

The dog pics are so cute! I really like the wolfish looks of your huskies.

I was thinking of doing this, but my nov. is going to be chaotic, with work, and moving, and getting things settled for Dec....so I've got next year in mind, when I have the time to be serious.

Best of luck to you on it though!!

Love the pictures, btw :)

I had to let you know that your dog food rant had an effect on what G and I bought for Valentino's next bag of food. He'd been eating Science Diet for indoor cats, but the ingredients were too heavy on the grains. We moved to another brand, which is heavier on the meats and whole vegetables as the primary ingredients. Our little one will be so healthy an happy as a result! :D thank you :)

In six weeks, tell me how her fur is. LOL.

Corn is for COWS! Not CATS! And DOGS!

Science Diet DOES do great with the prescription foods but forget it for the average healthy pup or cat. Anytime you see corn...RUN! Chicken, beef or lamb meal are the best things.

Kitty should eat less, too, because he'll get more nutrition now in a smaller amount.

He has such soft fur now - can't wait to see the results in a few weeks!

He seemed more "full" between last night and today. That's a good sign!

I'm off this week, so it's back to taking a nap with Mr Valentino :D
