Have you ever been so behind on something that when you finally do have a chance to catch up, there is just so much you haven't seen/read/done, it all becomes overwhelming?

That's me right now.

I am behind on...reading, writing, responding, commenting...  So much I want to read and comment on (in just a quick glance) that it is depressing because I can't stop long enough to do so because work is crazy, and  at home the ghetto computer is in constant-freeze mode so thus useless.

Work--sucks majorly at the moment.  Big project comes in--I am swamped with other stuff so they bring a guy down from Topeka. Problem is, they did not send someone who has done this before--in fact, he is so clueless I learned only today that he has not been dividing up things like he is supposed to--ARGH!! And so the decision now has been made that today, I will work on that project again and nevermind all the other stuff I have going on. And he leaves tomorrow...so Monday, the big dogs decided well, Carolyn just can scan ALL the things not finished today!  Whether it is needed for the project or not!  BRILLIANT!

WTF????

I am not impressed.  Stop fcking around with things and go away, people  who do not understand how to make a project run, gee, SMOOTHLY!!!!

And then there is the other bloke in Topeka who had requested stuff from me, I sent the stuff to him and he just kinda assumed *I* would deliver it? HELLO?  I do not know who he was getting it for! MORONS!!!!!!!

The problem is, the old are not training the new--and that is a very dangerous thing.  Very dangerous.

The only silver lining of the day is leaving early--my a/c totally bombed out last night, but it was lovely with the windows open and such (and the dogs ran in and out happily--they loved it).  The part is in, and a/c guy Chuck (who is awesome) will be there to fix it, late afternoon.  Can't ask for better end to the day, that.

Except, perhaps, for the insurance check to get here today, so Nick and I can go shopping for computers.  (Not holding my breath--Monday the insurance guy said 'hopefully the hurricane won't delay anything...')

Yeah, right.

{Raises her hand}

I got a yoga video to hopefully help me control my mind...haha, I haven't found the time to watch it more than once. Always something has that has to be done.

You're whiiiiiiiiining. But I love ya anyway.

Dare ya to continue:

Typical Cardiff weather, bit of sunshine between the clouds and more rain just when he's stepping out of the building. Hat pulled low into his face and he keeps his head down.

Anger and not a little humiliation spurs him on. The laughter still clings to his ears, echoes in his mind--he wishes he'd not come in today. He wishes he hadn't said anything to anyone about what he's seen.

"Andy! Andy wait up!"

He shoves his hands in his pockets and speeds up, but the voice calls out again, closer.

"Bloody hell, Andy! Wait up!"

The hand grabs onto his shoulder and he tries to shrug it off, wants to just disappear in the asphalt. "Piss off!" He twists out of the grip and continues on, hands deep in the pockets of his trousers.

The hand is insistent and has him pinned to a wall. People stare at them both.

"What?! What? I've heard enough of 'You must be dreaming, you tosser' for today, thanks a lot. I thought you'd bloody understand. You've been there!"

"I do understand! I was trying to tell you! I was trying to tell them!"

Andy snarls at the kid. Fresh-faced, brand-new, and stupid. And, fuck, crying. The kid snivels, wiping his uniformed sleep across his reddened face. Brilliant. Andy rolls his eyes, a little of his anger deflating but not much.

"I don't need your help."

"They were making fun of you. I couldn't just--"

"Yes you could've." He jerks away from the kid, brushing past him, bumping against him and sending him sprawling. He looks down his nose at the kid and snarls. "Just leave me the fuck alone, Jeffrey. I don't need any favors. Especially not from you."

"What's wrong with you? You weren't like this before!" Jeffrey's voice rings out along the street, making fools of both of them now. "It's not a bleeding favor! It's the truth. I thought you were so fond of that!"

Andy half-turns, stops, gestures with empty hands, but hell!

Ah, C! I was hoping things would turn around with that Topeka guy. Total bummer. I think you should go back to La Hacienda and flirt with Cody a while ... that'll take your mind off of work!

And good that the AC is being fixed, because you may be okay with just the breeze, as well might Nick and TT (see, now I'm even abbreviating Kelly's nickname), but we both know Tiff can't live without it!

You're forgiven if you don't get to my LJ to answer my "tell me how we met in three sentences or less" post! *grin*

I know the feeling. I have it regularly, think that I only scan the posts on my flist and don't have enough time to answer properly. And RL, preparing all the autumn and winter courses, re-organising my business, the dojo, my training for my aikido exam, trying to write in between - there is so much going on that I need all my energy to keep ahead of that.

We can just try and also know that not catching everything is part of life - not something that happens out of bad intentions.

*big hug*
