Okay...

As some of you know, that darn vampire kit has lodged into my mind and will not let go. The big problem with this thing, is that I am not a vampire fan, and so know very little about the creatures.

I like them well enough...I am absolutely in love with Bill (TRUE BLOOD) for instance, but I never watched Angel (I might though--but then again, maybe I won't so I won't be influenced by him lol), I wallbanged Twilight (is Edward REALLY a vampire? I wonder), I've not read anything but Interview with a Vampire and not sure that counts...okay so I did read Dracula years ago, but I assume times have changed, and, well, vampirism is something I've never really sunk my teeth into.

It will NOT be a romance, TYVM. My POV is not going to fall into the arms of her dark love...uh...no thanks.

So...

What do YOU guys like in your vampires? And dislike, too--like sparkles. Sparkly vampires do not do a thing for me.

I love vampires for their darkness. For how thought provoking they are... for their weaknesses and strengths.
I don't like them for their "love" concept, but for their "infatuation" concept. I don't see how a creature that's immortal can conceal any emotion in a thing, when the vampire has been around and had time to understand its emotion... however, when you read vampiric infatuation, it sounds so much more believable.

Sunlight, burning through flesh without the flames or the ash - I care and yet don't care. However, I do prefer the vampire whom just grows weak in the sunlight, not just falls to the floor and dies, but grows famished with fatigue and slowly crumbles. I'm not a big fan on flying vampires, or those that jump really high, however, keen senses and speed I fancy. I like modern day, as far as them blending in with average human, yet again, with speed, their reflexes.

Don't know if that answered your question or not.

I detest writers who portray their vampires to be dark, all-mighty, and emotionally inclined to falling madly in love. Give me a vampire that's in-depth, mysterious, and lusty and I'm in over my head.
