I have to go buy ANOTHER copy of Word 2007. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME!

The first was stolen by The Little Jerk Thief, and the second, well--I have ripped my room and desk apart, and fail to find it, ANYWHERE!!!

So I will buy another. A third. That is ANOTHER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS!!!!! I have tried to deal with Wordperfect, which I love, but it doesn't talk with Word 07 very well, and I have Word 03 at work, and and and... I am frustrated! And my son really really needs it for the next semester. He's made do without it but really needs Powerpoint at home.

So. I give. Merry Christmas to me...this is what I'll spend my Christmas bonus on, I suppose.

Whee.

C, shivering in bed with Maddox at my feet, rereading old writing, and resurrecting one of them

Take a deep breath and search your study again before you do anything rash.

Open Office *does* have a PowerPoint equivalent - I've done a presentation on it, and it plays nicely with PowerPoint proper.

In the past, I've had good luck with buying from eBay, but I suspct that the dangers of buying M$ products from there are greater.

Also, if your son is in full-time education, you should be able to get an educational copy - this might not eat your Christmas bonus after all.

If I could figure out how to rip it from my laptop to the big computer, I would do that. LOL I have cleaned this room so many times...it is aggravating as I *always* kept the CD with the case. It is not there now. One kid is a Mac user so she is safe, the other is the one who needs it--neither of them have it. It is frustrating.

I'll look for the Powerpoint clone. Thanks!
