Let there first be:
1. CAKE!
2. HUSKIES! Anyone who knows me knows I have two huskies. Apparently, those who know me well know never to say a thing about huskies else I'll launch into waxing poetically about what an amazing, intelligent, experssive, silly, adorable, loving breed they are. The black and white one, Maddox, is supposed to be my son's, and when
(Note the weird one, Shelby, is Nick's)
And yes, I will be worried to death about them while I'm gone. Of course I will. Gulp.
3. TRAVEL. Travel! Seeing the world! Exploring places I've never been! To not have the next trip's planning started soon as I am home from going somewhere, well...I get ansty. Anxious even, that damn clock ticking in my head. I've lived here in one place all my life, the kid of two people who just rather stay home, and then I went and married someone who would rather stay home too...I'm making up for lost time! I fairly BURST with the desire to see other cultures, amazing new sites, countries I once never imagined I'd set foot in. I don't understand why anyone would NOT want to know and see and experience as much as possible in life. Really, and I do know people like that. My boss for one--he thinks I am nuts to want to go outside the US. The most exotic travel he does is go to Pensacola. *rolls eyes*
Sometimes, it just breaks me that I didn't start traveling until I was in my 40's. I know there are many places I wish I could go to, but won't be able to, and I feel cheated, honestly. I'm not sure why out of all my family I'm the one with the need to see and do and explore, but I've passed that on to my daughter, and am glad I've been able to send her to Europe twice already, and she and my son will be going to Italy in the spring of '10. I want my kids to have what I didn't for too long--a vivid awareness that their home is just a single spot in a huge, amazing world.
4. SAVAGE GARDEN. Ahh the boys who made me love slash!
It is funny, I was not actually a SG fan per se when I started to write them. I had Affirmation, knew the chica cherry cola song as a fun summer song, but that's about it. I didn't have any awareness that fandoms even existed until I stumbled across the SG fandom and
That fic I called Odyssey...it was my sanity. It would take a post in and of itself to explain what this fic has meant and still means to me--I reworked it and sold it to Loose-Id Publishing some years later, where it still is selling very well--but honestly? That was in the past, that time of my life over. I am now healthy, happy, loved, and am no longer the desperately lonely, scared, exhausted and emotionally starved person I was back then. (only drawback? I'm not writing like I used to--not by a long shot. If I write best when I am a mess, my writing career is in serious trouble)
and last...
5. CUTE HAIRCUTS. This one makes me shake my head at you, Amand_r. Or at myself. WHY this? Although I do love my hair cut like this. It is slightly whacked, just like me!

Date: 2009-06-30 02:36 pm (UTC)I mostly read now, too. In the Sentinel fandom, though I read there during the SG days too.
I took a very tiny stab at American Idol Cookleta slash, haha.
Have you watched Merlin? The slash couldn't get much more obvious without being banned Haha.
Well, the only thing obvious about it is the dragon, but still... ;)
